It looks like something that would have come out twenty years ago. Say, what's the budget on this anyway? As soon as I saw the trailer, I instantly thought of "Twister." There is something about that movie that I have always found to be rather engrossing/addictive. I don't know crap about storm chasing and it's not a good movie, but there's something about it that makes you feel like you are really immersed in this lifestyle and really know these people. Also, the trailer makes it look like a very different movie:

As soon as I saw the trailer, I instantly thought of "Twister." There is something about that movie that I have always found to be rather engrossing/addictive. I don't know crap about storm chasing and it's not a good movie, but there's something about it that makes you feel like you are really immersed in this lifestyle and really know these people. Also, the trailer makes it look like a very different movie: Yeah, the trailer definitely looks like a different movie (especially with the old-fashioned professional movie trailer voiceover that was still being used until the voiceover guy passed away, I think). It sounds like a mystery and a horror movie. In reality, the characters were silly some of the time and they had emotional things going on (love triangle, competition with other storm chasers, sad history of a parent killed by a big tornado, etc). I liked the movie a lot, but it wasn't a mystery or a horror movie. It was more like a day in the life of some interesting people who put themselves in danger (sometimes) by chasing bad weather.
