Agents of Shield. The first half of the first season was downright bad at times. I actually watched it as it aired and quit. Then, years later, I binged it and it got MUCH better by season two.

A couple of modern cartoon shows that are more for adults than children: Beavis and Butthead. Thought it was really stupid as the characters are still often do. I started watching it for the videos and the character's interactions while watching the videos. They got on my nerves at first especially Beavis but I learned to like his violent stupidity. The humor is more in how stupid these kids are than what they actually do.
Family Guy Mostly for the same reason as B&B stupid characters doing stupid things. Peter Griffin's voice is annoying as are some of the other character's but I think what sold me on this show was Stewie's British voice and how he is so obsessed with the whole evil genius taking of the world thing. Also how they treat Meg so awfully yet she tolerates it and often embraces it. I learned how to somewhat understand Seth MacFarlane's humor. I hate his over-delayed humor bits. In comedy often there is an unwritten "law" of 3, where you tell a joke or do visual slapstick that is sort of funny, you do it a second time to extend the laugh, and then before it dies you do a final 3rd time to get things back to normal. Well Seth tends to do 7 or 8 where number 2 is OK that was sort of funny but its dying, 3rd time Yeah its over, 4th time alright already we get the joke it's old now and over, 5th time UGH MOVE IT ON ALREADY, 6th time Oh God when will he end it, 7th time is it over yet? 8th time I wish I had changed the channel, What it's over? Good.

Psych. Based on the previews I would see after Monk I was sure I never wanted to see that show. It just seemed annoying. After seeing the first episode I wasn't totally convinced, but the more I saw of the show the more I got into it.

Dollhouse. I felt it started weak but got really good once it built up momentum and had effectively established its characters.

The Walking Dead. Watched the first episode, and it felt like a huge rip off of 28 Days Later. (I didn't know about the comic at that point.) Also, I found it hard to get past Andrew Lincolns accent after seeing him in Teachers. I tried again last year as it was all my friends could talk about, and ended up binge-watching the whole series in a couple of weeks.

Spartacus. I hated the first 6 or so episodes and don't know how or why I kept watching it, but by the end of the first season I was hooked.

Malcolm in the Middle.... the 'discipline' this woman does her children instead of dragging them to a neurologist for testing was just abominable. then I saw the humor the boys did in everything and I ignored Lois.

As much as a 40 hour work week allows, but that's pretty much all I did for 2 weeks. I'm kind of obsessive that way.

X-Files. I watched the pilot, forgot about it--then a couple months later heard that it was being compared to Kolchak so I started watching it and then caught up with what I missed.
