The 1992 film "The Mighty Ducks" is airing on the NHL Network tonight at 8pm eastern time.
Anyway, one thing that always grinds my nuts in sports film is when they can't get simple details right.
Who is the target audience in SPORTS films? Sports fans usually. So get the details right.
The Playoffs:
Hawks #1
Ducks #8
It is an 8 team playoff. Hans shows a playoff chalkboard in the film. The district has 10 teams, 8 teams make the playoffs. The Panthers get the measles, so they forfeit the season. The Ducks beat Huskies, they make the playoffs and snag that 8th spot. The Ducks should play the HAWKS in Round One. However, the Ducks play the Hawks in the Championship game. This makes no sense.
