Glad you said OR because I can't stand Dalton's Bond movies. Dalton is second ONLY to Connery. He's also the MOST like Ian Fleming's character.

Also, I like the books, but they are overrated. Maybe the movies went too far the other way, but in Casino Royale Bond doesn't even fire a gun.

I like Sean Connery as James Bond and I don't even come close to being a true 007 fan.

Well, at least you didn't say Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan... I'll take Brosnan and Moore over Dalton any day. Then again, I'm not a true James Bond fan.

I'll take Brosnan and Moore over Dalton any day. Then again, I'm not a true James Bond fan. What don't you like about Dalton? He's much closer to the Fleming Bond than all of them with the exception of Craig. He lacks any personality whatsoever and looks bored through the entire Licence to Kill (which is a crap movie imo even if I ignore Dalton). The story is fine but the directing and acting ranges from mediocre to awful. Taliso Soto gives one of the worst performances I have ever seen. I honestly don't believe even one sentence he utters. I don't find him cool, I don't know why women would think he is sexy and he has the personality of a rock. He's much closer to the Fleming Bond than all of them with the exception of Craig. This sentence only applies to people that have read the novels. James Bond is set up a certain way personality wise in the movies (and I prefer his film persona) that is separate from the novels I take it but I do like Daniel Craig as James Bond quite a bit. So it isn't as much that I am not open to a dfferent more realistic style, it's that I just think Dalton is crap.

then you're NOT a TRUE James Bond, 007 fan!!!! I guess I must be " a TRUE James Bond, 007 fan " then . I actually liked every James Bond actor that was chosen for the entire film saga . IMPO - It seems all these fine actor gents were perfectly selected and tailor-made to each of the films they were in too . Thanks so much RiP, IMDb for your subject post .

Dalton is my favorite Bond..Connery, Craig, Brosnan and Moore follow in that order...Never liked Moore's Bond and Brosnan's outings suffered from bad scripts. (He would have been better off playing Simon Templar in a Saint revival...)

I consider myself a Bond fan but when i look at the Bond movies that are amongst My Favorite Movies in general there are only seven of them, which are...
1.Skyfall (2012) - 8.5-9/10 (within my Top 26 movies) 2.Casino Royale (2006) 3.Licence to Kill (1989) - 8/10 (within my Top 60 movies) 4.Goldfinger (1964) - 7.5-8/10 (within my Top 108 movies) 5.Spectre (2015) 6.From Russia with Love (1963) - 7-7.5/10 (not much outside of my Top 108 movies) 7.Dr. No (1962) - 7/10 (within my top 196 movies)
HM: The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) - 6-6.5/10 (this is a bit shy of making My Favorite Movies, which contains 196 movies, but is still within Top 247 movies)
p.s. i give a Thumbs Up to 14 out of the 25 Bond movies. with that said... i used to like a large portion of the Bond movies but some have fell off over the years and as time passes you can see what movies stand out from the pack for you vs those that don't and i rate accordingly.

And in the very next Fleming book, 1954's Live and Let Die, Bond shoots a screaming man -- directly in his open mouth -- from less than two feet away.
