13 Movies with scenery wrong for the setting
01. Stagecoach (1939) - Monument Valley nowhere near Lordsburg, NM
02. She Wore a Yellow Ribbon - Monument Valley nowhere near Crow Agency, Montana
03. The Eiger Sanction - "The Totem Pole" in Monument Valley, AZ is NOT in Switzerland
04. The Wind Cannot Read - Opens in a supposed desert in Burma, but there are no deserts in that region.
05. Some Like It Hot - The beach scenes in "Miami," were shot in Coronado, CA., near San Diego. There is no mountainous terrain around the beaches of Miami.
06. Ill Met by Moonlight - Set in Crete...shot in Scotland.
07. Rumble in The Bronx - There are no mountains visible in The Bronx, but there they are anyway ( filmed in Vancouver, which has lots of mountains)
08. Royal Night out - Most of the London scenes were shot in Leeds, Yorkshire.
09. Educating Rita - Dublin substitutes for Liverpool, and one shot has Gaelic signage in the background.
10. Saving Private Ryan - Beach scenes shot in Co. Wexford, Ireland.

13. Dr. Zhivago - David Lean could not secure permission to film in the (then) U.S.S.R.. Most of the film was shot in Spain. Tons of white materials ... such as damp sand ... had to substitute for deep snow.
