My Grandpa had them back in his day. Nor did my father.

Don't be too sure: the first known sex reassignment surgeries began in Germany 87 years ago. It's not that we didn't have them; it's simply that they weren't publicized. The first person to do so and become internationally known was Christine Jorgensen in 1952.

While reading her autobiography, I had a professor argue that Catalina de Eauso (the Nun lieutenant) was a trailblazer in transgender history since according to her autobiography (bear in mind it was written in the early 19th century and she lived in the 17th century) she dressed as a man, became a conquistador, and had relations with women frequently. This is the most accurate likeness of her.

My Grandpa had them back in his day. Nor did my father. Sure they did. They just didn’t know it then because people were ignorant. It’s just like how there are no homosexuals in the country of Iran (even though there are).

I think there are no homosexuals in Iran because almost every Iranian male has homosexual relations with other men before they are married. It's a sex act there, not an identity.
