@mellomoviereview & Salzmank I have no reason to dislike GoT as I think its not my thing, but it was mildly irritating to reschedule our poker night because my friends are all so into it. I cut the cable in 2005 and got sort of used to being out of the loop TV-wise. "The X-Files" is the last TV show I can remember making an effort to watch every week. I also saw (and came to enjoy) a lot of "The Office," which was my old roommate's favorite show. When "Breaking Bad" hit Netflix, I binged it pretty quick...really great show (particularly in the earlier seasons).

SalzmankI actually get not wanting to see something when it's at the height of popularity. I have no interest in Shameless because everyone I know talks about it. It just turns me off for whatever reason. But if you read...give the Game of Thrones books a try. They're fantastic.

Haven't seen any "Transformers" and don't really feel any desire to. It's not a film, but I believe I'm the only one who hasn't seen or knows anything about "Game of Thrones." I thought the hype for the "Sopranos" was over the top (I liked it, but watched it long after it ended), but "Game of Thrones" blows it away. I'm not a fan of most things that fit in the fantasy genre (dragons, medieval times, magic) which is what I presumed it was all about? I hear lots of great things about boobs and violence, but that's not enough to intrigue me enough to sign up for cable. You are not alone. I can honestly say I have never seen a single episode of 'Game of Thrones' either and my Wifey hasn't either. I also know a lot of other people who haven't seen it and I was actually thinking about mentioning that on my post 'cause of how popular it is but left it off. I have nothing personal against the show but shows set in medieval times don't interest me.
