My unpopular opinion is
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of the Sith is better than Return Of the Jedi.
The Opera House Scene, the fight between Obi-Wan and Anakin, the turn, the Vader unveil, the younglings Massacre, etc...
Return Of the Jedi is just plain silly.
‘Sith’ unfairly gets lumped in with the prequels, and ‘Jedi’ unfairly gets a pass because it’s lumped with the original trilogy.
Judging them as solo films, how can you say RotJ is better?

My unpopular opinion is that Return of the Jedi is the best Star Wars movie.

Return of the Jedi suffers a great deal from the over-long opening. The rest of the movie pretty much just stays on Endor and the Death Star.
There are a few great scenes, but I think there should've been at least one more big location that they explored for at least a little while.
I agree with your original statement, though. Revenge of the Sith gets better each time I watch it.

‘Sith’ unfairly gets lumped in with the prequels Eh, I think it gets an unfair bump because it's slightly better than the other prequels (and because Vader is in it). There are some great scenes like the ones you mentioned, but also an almost equal number of terrible ones (any scene with Grievous, Ewan McGregor laughing about dead younglings, that "you're so beautiful" balcony scene, "Noooooo!", Padme losing the will to live, etc). Then I know you said to judge it on its own, but the film's relationships (Obi-Wan and Anakin, Anakin and Padme) are still burdened by the mishandling of them in previous films. I'm no ROTJ fan, and it's the reason I don't call Star Wars a great trilogy, but the scenes with Luke, Vader, and the Emperor are some of the best of the trilogy. The first half or so before we get to the ewoks is fine, especially at Jabba's palace. It's also the only entry where I really like Luke.

I've always thought this. McGregor had one of the finest SW performances to date with ROTS. I'd put both ahead of TFA.
