Is batshit crazy. Makes The Last Crusade look positively mellow by comparison. Crazy good production values, too. That minecart chase is off the chain, too. Plus, Harrison Ford is so damn manly.

It's my least favorite entry (of the original trilogy) but I love it.

I remember hating it back when I first saw it, but I really like it now. I don't get why people hate it so much. It's a lot of pulpy fun.

Again, it's my least favorite of the original trilogy, but it's a really good film. Mola Ram was a brutal villain, the action was intense, and it was a brave risk to make Indiana Jones turn to the dark side. It's the Indian stereotypes and Willie being a damsel in distress with her over-the-top screaming that lowers the film for me.

Temple of Doom is every bit as good as the first one and superior to the other 2 in every way. The haters are complete assholes.

Willie and Short Round ruin it for me. I dislike it so much I didn't even see Crystal Skull when it was deemed worse.

Its my favourite Indy but I still love the other 2. The whole trilogy is the best ever imo. Temple of Doom is peak Indy for me. An archaeologist-explorer who starts out egostical and desiring fortune + glory. But then sees true suffering like never before and saves an entire community single handledly which makes him more humble and modest. Not sure how you can say it has no heart.

After the opening number it's downhill all the way.

There is stuff to like about it but there's a lot of silliness that brings it down a peg or two.

Least favorite of all the films, including Crystal Skull. I still like it and watch it when I'm in the mood for a marathon. Willie is annoying, Short Round is a mini Chewbacca for Indy's Han Solo and the whole "INDY, I LOVE YOU!!!" before Short Round puts a torch to Indy's body just completely kills it (not in a good way). Plus, the whole dining scene is a complete waste of time and just filler to gross the audience out and to give Willie more shock and awe. The best parts of the film are the mine chase and the closing bridge scenes. Raiders and Last Crusade just utterly blow this film to pieces. I think Spielberg was smoking something and was to awestruck by Kate Capshaw to pay attention to what a disaster he was filming.

Love it. While Raiders had to cut just one scene to get a PG rating, it's almost like ToD was written as an R movie from the beginning and just got lucky.

Some folks say its their least favorite of the Indy movies (Crystal Skull doesn't count, so I'm loathe to even bring it up). But I say its my favorite. Sure, there's lot of cheesiness and improbability in it, but for outright sheer fun you cant beat it.
The minecart chase is the shiznit! When there's a break in the track and they think they're fucked and the music stops and all you hear is Capshaw's scream but they land on the other side just right anyway! That's fucking 80's action movie cheese awesome!

It's a lot of fun, if a bit too dark for an Indy movie, but the "silly" scenes (the dinner being the most notorious) go too far in the other direction. I didn't mind Willie at at all, but Short Round was too much...Spielberg was full-on into his "gotta have a kiddie in my movie" mode at that point. I rank it slightly above Crystal Skull.

This is probably one of the scariest lines in all the Indiana Jones films:
MOLA RAM: "The British in India will be slaughtered. Then we will overrun the Moslems and force their "Allah" to bow to Kali. And then the Hebrew God will fall and finally the Christian God will be cast down and forgotten."
I could just visualize hordes of Thuggees overrunning Asia and making their way West.
