He's worthy of my money... And he'll get it next month at the midnight showing!
Hmmm. That sounded very wrong.

Did you see the new trailer for TLJ? I found it to be extremely underwhelming... Possibly the least impressed with a SW trailer that I've ever been.

Possibly the least impressed with a SW trailer that I've ever been. I saw it; it confirmed about forty percent of the spoilers I'd already read, leading me to believe that my sources regarding the rest of the plot and its details are also correct. And, if so, it'll be worse than TFA -- at least in concept. I dare say the execution looks more competent and less lazy by virtue of having a halfway decent director at the helm, unlike JJ who will undoubtedly shit all over Episode IX regardless of how terrible (or surprisingly decent) TLJ is anyway. So: I say all that to say: yes, I saw it on Monday at halftime during that miserable Bears game. God damn that Star Wars and those Chicago Bears. Neither one of them has been worth a shit since 2006 -- and arguably 1985!

I just don't like the visuals in that last trailer- too green screeny for my tastes. And yeah, the plot points are all ESB. The complete lack of Ack was disappointing as well.

I'm confused

So Rey is tempted to go to the dark side but she's such a perfect person she remains pure and then defeats everyone single handed? Is that the gist of the next two episodes?

I'm confused Both my parents have degrees from Penn State, and I've seen them as kind of our "hometown" college team. My dad did his undergraduate work at Notre Dame, so we were always more of a Fighting Irish household than anything else, but I still pull for the Lions. As for the pros: everyone in my family either likes the Giants or the Steelers -- except my grandmother, who rooted for the Eagles, this weird dickhead contingent of upstate New York cousins who are all Cowboys fans, and me, the Bears fan. Why? Because I started watching the NFL when I was a little kid, and little kids are morons, which is to say: my first name begins with a "C," and my favorite color as a kid was (and still is) orange. So I just arbitrarily started pulling for the Monsters of the Midway circa 1990. I had no idea what I was getting myself into! Womp. But, what can you do except... Bear down?!?!?!!1

"JL", or "LJ", that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in Spice Mines of Kessel, The slings and arrows of Bib Fortuna, Or to take arms against a Sea of Tribbles And by opposing end them. To Sleep—"Forever Sleep" No more; and by a sleep to say we end The Crying Out of Millions of Voices That flesh is heir to: 'tis a consummation Devoutly to be wish'd. To Sleep, to "Forever Sleep" To sleep, perchance to dream—about you Mother on Tatooine, For in that sleep of death what dreams may come, When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, Must make us One With the Force That makes calamity of so long life. For who would bear the Sabers of Light and Dark Sith oppressor's wrong, the proud Jedi's contumely, The forbidden Jedi love, the law's delay, The Chancellor's Office, and the spurns That patient merit of Sith Lord takes, When he himself Emergency Powers make With a bare bodkin? My uncle was a UGA grad. I'm a UGA alumnus and an Atlanta Falcons fan. At least you stuck with the team you picked as a kid. That shows loyalty. I hate when peoples favorite team is whoever won the Championship last. You are an honorable man my friend. Innit?

Eh, I prolly would've switched my college allegiance if my alma mater, the world-famous University of Scranton, currently had a football team; as it stands now they've been "undefeated" since the mid-60s.

Awesome! Hopefully it reaches $100 million OW. Damn, dude. That's cold. I mean, I want the movie to fail too, but wishing a $100m Overall Worldwide box office on a blockbuster release like Thor is tantamount to wishing it makes nothing. I'll be happy as long as Justice League beats it soundly by several hundred million. Innit?

Yeah I suppose that seems right. Thor Dark World opened to $85 million and that was four years ago. There seems to be more going for this one too, I'm seeing more hype for it so I wouldn't be surprised if it goes over $100 million.
I don't think it'll go as high as Spider-man Homecoming though.
