"I feel like someone's stuck a big club up my ass. And it hurts. I gotta figure out a way to get it outta there."
A ruthless Japanese gang only known as the Katana have striked fear into the innocent people of Los Angeles, with their brutal operations and merciless tactics which has made them become the number one priority for the LAPD, but they do have their own little secret weapon that will help them taking the Japanese out of business for good. That man is officer Joe Marshall (Matt Hannon). A highly trained martial art expert, known better among his co-workers and enemies as the one and only: Samurai Cop!
A cult-classic of the action-genre, if there ever was one, this is it.
If you took Maniac Cop (1988) and Lethal Weapon (1987) and brought along the incredible gifted Iranian filmmaker Amir Shervan, the result is the hilarious and extremely enjoyable Samurai Cop (1991).
Everything that went "wrong" somehow, at the end of the day worked like magic, as this is a comedy with so many ridiculous lines, scenes, and characters that it is amazing how somebody could come up with all of it and make it such a entertaining and fun flick.
As the main henchman we do get to see Robert Z'Dar (Maniac Cop trilogy) lash out against the hilarious buddy-cop duo of Joe Marshall (Matt Hannon) and his wise-cracking sidekick Frank Washington (Mark Frazer) only to piss off what just might be one of the angriest and still most laughable Police Captains in movie history, played awesomely by Dale Cummings.
The stunning Janis Farley delivers a 10/10 performance as the movies eye candy in the part of Jennifer.
All in all, it is such a great comedy/action-adventure, it really has to be seen to be believed.
It also come with one of the most powerful and moving speeches ever created:
"Now, I'm telling these son of a bitches..."
And it doesn't shy away of putting in a little romance here and there....
"Would you like to fuck me?"
And then of course there is lots of tits and ass, gore and blood, where arms, legs and bodyparts are flying all over the place backed up with some truly fantastic acting and, well, if you haven't seen this gem of a movie before, go out and order a copy, because you will not regret watching such a fine piece of American cinema.
