Don't know how to feel about this. On one hand I like that Fox is trying to experiment with different tones, but on the other hand this looks nothing like New Mutants. It's almost like they just took the name and pasted it on a horror flick. Hee hee hee... The state of the horror genre today is tepid and underwhelming as is and Fox thinks aping it is the key to CBM success. Ha ha... Yes let's put sunspot in the dryer and get some extras from the Purge movies. Lord Death Man is not amused. SaveSaveSaveSave

How familiar are you with the original source material, and how important is to you that the movie is faithful to it on both the narrative and tonal fronts?

I never expected it to be a horror movie.
It doesn't look anything special from the trailer, just a generic horror movie. It being linked to X-men though will probably cause me to see it.

the trailer reminded me of something that (for some reason) the promise of it being a Horror flick never did: i don't usually like what passes for mainstream Horror.
however, i no longer trust trailers to properly represent their films so my anticipation hasn't changed much.
has there been any word on whether Williams will be affecting a Scottish accent as Wolfsbane?

There was hardly ever a time when so many sophisticated horror films were released, just to name a few I like: It Follows, Don't breathe, Split, Raw, Get Out, It comes at night, Devils candy, The Which, Curse of Chucky, AnnabelCreation, Conjuring, Let me in, You are next, Green Room, The Crazies...etc...etc... Maybe you should go back to your PG kiddy movies about beefcakes-in-tights clobbering, that seems more agreeable with your intelligent age. Kiddy Kiddy Kiddy Kiddy
