So next season involves Manson confirmed?. Next season involves the Atlanta Child Killings as far as I have heard.

Excited about the show. Finished episode 1. The acting left a lot to be desired. Hoping it improves...

I absolutely loved it. It got better and better as it went on. All of the characters were great and the writing was fantastic. I actually thought it started better than it ended (though it was consistently good). The other killers weren't as interesting as Kemper, and I disliked the consultant from Boston they bring in. Not to sound like those guys who hate the wife characters in crime shows because they rain on the antihero's parade, but her constant moralizing such as with Holden's naughty language and her little trip to Georgia (the motivation of which I didn't even understand) grew irritating. But anyway, can't wait for season 2. I loved the two leads, and I agree that Cameron Britton (Kemper) deserves an Emmy nod. Anyone know the actor's actual height? I suspect they used tricks to make him look bigger, but either way, what a terrifying presence.

Since watching Silence of the Lambs I have had keen interest in real life serial killers and what makes them tick. That makes this show right down my alley. Speaking of SotL, interesting to note that the main character in this and Will Graham from the Hannibal franchise are based on the same person.

Finished season 1 last night and wow, Holden's life is literally falling apart right before his eyes.
It seemed to me that besides the girlfriend and career, in the final scene when he was visiting Edmund Kemper he can to the realization that he is a lot more like these killers than he is willing to admit.
Really looking forward to season 2.

Really looking forward to season 2. Yeah, I got that too. Like when his girl wears high heels for him and he seems into it at first, but then he freaks out because it reminds him of Jerry Brudos (did that guy remind anyone else of John Goodman?).

Incredible season of TV. I absolutely loved it. Fincher says he wants it to go 5 seasons long

I got so annoyed when she wanted to turn the "bad word" tapes to the OPR.

I am not a huge Wendy fan but someone has to keep Holden in check, nothing is scarier then someone with power who feels self assured enough that they are correct all the time. Not siding with her, simply saying that I understand why she is there even if I don't really care for her, then again I suppose his boss could fill that role.

I understand that someone needs to keep Holden in check. I was just so into his character that I really don't want anyone to keep him in check. His interview methods, as shocking and crude as they are, were obviously effective. The "eight ripe cunts" got the guy talking, I don't understand why Wendy got so triggered by it.

The show is set in 1977 and the "C" word was taboo back then. Most women still take offense to it today. From the formation of the Elite Serial Crime Unit Unit Chief Shepard has been concerned about the reputation of the FBI and how the new unit will impact that. So his and Wendy's response to the word being in the record is understandable.

Check out Ed Kempers real life interviews on youtube. Perfect definition of a psychopath. He comes across as a very intelligent, eloquent man, and he even makes you feel sorry for him in parts. Its pretty scary realising there are people out there like that.

I 'lurked' this thread last week, and want to thank all the posters. I guess I binged it in about 10 days, the final four episodes consecutively from last night until this morning.
I've been a 'serial killer/FBI' geek for years, even before "Silence Of The Lambs".
IMO, the series is solid. I agree with one poster, in that the last few of the 10 episode run were somewhat anti climatic. I kind of knew Holdens life was going to fall apart, knew the girlfriend was going to eventually 'check out', etc.
The way Holden is portrayed, enjoyable telegraphed for me? The little 'sociopath' running around inside of him. The expressionless face with that 'dull eyed look' was apparent to me from scene one. He and Kemper have a similar 'affect', although Kemper's is far more terrifying, probably because he's actually 'gone there'.
Interestingly enough, the most powerful scene for me in the entire run was Agent Tresh's break down with his wife. I do like the way it's laid out, with the older, more experienced Agent probably being the more 'human' of the two.
Good series. Can't wait for season 2.
