...starring Edward Woodward? Before the US snaffled Ed for 'The Equaliser'.
Lonely and Meres. Terrific. I mention this because Series 3 and 4 are currently available in full on Youtube, as are about a dozen sadly badly distorted episodes from Ser 1 & 2.

Yes brilliant, got all episodes on DVD except of course missing ones. If you like Callan the next big hit spy show ITV did was The Sandbaggers, available on youtube, recommended. Whereas Callan was mi5 ,The Sandbaggers was mi6. The focus of Callan of course was the foot soldier, The Sandbaggers' lead character was Burnside the Operations Chief, the " hunter" if you like. Give it a go it'll not disappoint.

Many thanks for the heads-up on Sandbaggers. That's one I missed. Quite liked Mr Palfrey of Westminster. Recently bought the DVD of the whole series.
Got all the episodes of Sandbaggers downloaded. Looks good. Thanks again.

Update:
I've been watching a few episodes and it's reasonable drama, but what makes me laugh about it is, that there only three Sandbaggers to cover the entire globe. In reality the SIS must employ dozens of such experts to carry out dubious covert operations.
