I feel for the Kurds. They seem more agreeable than all of their neighbours but they don’t have a state. Even if they did manage some kind of autonomy from Iraq in Iraqi Kurdistan, you can bet it wouldn’t go down too well with the Turks. Erdogan would move right in and crush them. It’s just a sad scenario.

Ok, so when did Kurds (and who exactly) ally with Al Qaeda? I don’t doubt it I’m just curious. There's a Kurdish branch of Al Qaeda that attacks the regional government. Not sure if separate groups actually align with them though.

That region is a never ending mess. The Kurds deserve better though, they fought the good fight against IS and get nothing in return.
