Pop superstar Janelle Monae is from Kansas City, Kansas. So was jazz legend Charlie 'Bird' Parker.

Joe Walsh of the James Gang & the Eagles comes from Wichita.

Not all the members of the band Kansas were actually from Kansas, but Kerry Livgren is from Topeka.

Looking to film, Fatty Arbuckle was also born in the state of Kansas. And some spooky performers ...

Eerie Zasu Pitts was from Parsons, Kansas.

Creepy Dwight Frye was from Salina.

Cassandra Peterson, aka Elvira - Mistress of the Dark, emanates from Manhattan, Kansas.

Horror icon Dee Wallace is from Kansas City, as is genre legend Angus Scrimm.

On-screen villain Billy Drago comes from Hugoton.
