Here's a clip from Garbo's first "talkie" picture, Anna Christie (1930), in which we get to hear her speak on the big screen for the first time. It's a bit creaky, and make sure you have the volume turned up so as to hear it properly, but it's an enjoyable moment in film history:

Garbo talking was no big deal to me. I watch this movie strictly for Marie Dressler. She steals the show with no effort, especially those scenes in the bar.
