I feel sorry for him. The level of sanctimonious whining about his behaviour, mainly from Republicans I think, is clearly way out of control. He took a knee during a song... big deal! Get over it! I even heard one congressman say he is a terrorist and is sympathetic to ISIS. I mean these are the same people who will endlessly complain that political correctness has gone mad with one hand, then endlessly complain that a piece of cloth has been disrespected with the other. Just a shame really for Kaepernick he has been ostracised in his own country and that he plays a sport where there isn't really an alternative country he can go and play in. The song is the national anthem. The piece of cloth is the American flag. Kaepernicks childish behavior is because he wasn't good enough to keep his job as QB. Now he basically playing the race card to make it sound like he has some kind of noble cause. Just look at the stupid pig socks he wore. He has brought it all on himself by whinging like a brat. "The song is the national anthem. The piece of cloth is the American flag." Yeah. Manley Stanley is either and insult troll or a dick. Who cares what a Brit thinks about this topic? Yeah, the pig socks were a nice touch. Maybe the 49ers will take him back if he agrees to work for the league minimum. The 49ers deserve Colin Kaepernick. The guy has concrete for brains. A grievance? For what?

"I feel sorry for him. I even heard one congressman say he is a terrorist and is sympathetic to ISIS. Yeah, I don't think that that's true. Stranger things have happened in our politics (look at the god damn white house), but this sounds entirely made up. If that happened and I somehow didn't hear about it, then that's even more remarkable that such a comment wasn't turned into a huge news story. Anyway, the bottom line is that Colin Kaepernek could have any opinion he wanted to if he was good enough. He was a medium tier player at the very best who was likely washed up anyway, and most teams say he's not worth the PR nightmare. And let's also not pretend that he's some righteous, crusading intellectual. He's said some really stupid things and doesn't seem to know much about a lot of these topics he feels so strongly about, and whole playing IN MIAMI declared his respect and admiration for Fidel Castro and communism.. in a town where a huge portion of the population are refugees from that regime. Obviously that's not gonna go over well. Clearly, if he wasn't a political lightning rod the he would have a job, but he would not be a starting player anywhere, and it's not out of reasonable possibility that each team that needs a backup decided his bahhahe wasn't worth it. He has no case. Here you go, straight from the horses mouth, Congressman Steve King "This is activism that is sympathetic to ISIS" This is the people you elect.

Yikes!
Again, can't believe that didn't get more press. Hard to believe even though he is one of the more notoriously idiotic legislators we have.

"This is the people you elect." *These are... 90% of the time I read an article with a bat shit crazy quote from an American politician, in brackets after his name the word 'Republican' will always follow. The other 10% of the time it says 'GOP'.

I personally believe that everything has a place. Any person should be free to protest against what she or he considers to be a valid cause but sports stadium (at a time when a game is being conducted in it) is not something that I believe should be an avenue for political messages. He could do the same after the completion of every game outside the stadium. I believe sports should be kept away from politics. But then some people may not think like me and I don't have anything against them. The point of any protest is to bring as much attention as possible to the reason behind the protest. Few in America have as large a platform as an NFL player, and even more so a QB. So he used his platform as he saw fit. Is it really any different than Al Gore talking about global warming, Bono preaching about everything at a U2 concert, or George Clooney talking about African orphans or whatever? You don't have to agree with what Kaepernick is trying to bring attention to (though everyone should), but if you don't like seeing it on tv then maybe that's when you should grab a beer or go to the bathroom.

What is being talked about more? The social injustice that these idiots claim to be protesting about or the fact that they are using the platform to disrespect the country? Yes, the motive of social injustice is given, but then the discussion turns to the protest itself. Remember when the bullshit started about how the Redskins name is disrespectful or the Cleveland Indians mascot is disrespectful. The reason liberals gave was that if anyone is offended by it, it is therefore offensive. Why is this any different? If anyone is offended by the kneeling, it is therefore offensive. Just like with the name and mascot, inent of not meaning to be offensive is moot

Except by playing the anthem and regularly having to 'show respect' to the military by having them come on the field/court/ice is politicizing the event.

Is Al Gore sitting in the office of the Vice President when he talks about global warming? Does George Clooney stop in the middle of his movies face the camera and speak of orphans? Is Bono not a self employed business man who brings up issues at his own expense? Those three examples you give speak up on their own time and money. Kaepernick wages his crusade on the NFL and the NFL fan's time and money. While I think most fans agree the issue of inequality should be addressed there are different avenues that can be taken and Kap filing a grievance claiming collusion certainly has nothing to do with cops shooting unarmed black men it has all to do with himself and his out of control ego.

The reason liberals gave was that if anyone is offended by it, it is therefore offensive. Why is this any different? If anyone is offended by the kneeling, it is therefore offensive. Just like with the name and mascot, inent of not meaning to be offensive is moot It's talked about more, oddly enough, by the people who believe that social injustice is something that these people have made up in their minds. They attack the messenger and not the message, going so far as to actually say that the message is something else entirely (it's about social injustice, it's not about protesting the flag/this country). They say things like "Kaepernick isn't poor, therefore he has no idea about social injustice," which is so perplexingly stupid that I cannot for the life of me see how anybody can repeat it, and yet they do. It's talked about more because that's what people do in this country when they think you are wrong - they change the tune and put words in your mouth. It's talked about more by people who claim to be constitutional experts when it comes to waving Nazi flags and citing 1st amendment cases, but who disappear like a fart in the wind when someone asks about other constitutional rights that are often ignored, such as due process of law. I don't disagree with you about the Redskins and Indians thing, although I'd go so far as to say that people being upset with teams using a mascot of a people who were the victims of mass genocide is not the same thing as taking a knee in the hopes of saying "hey, something is wrong in this country, let's do something about it." When military personnel are coming out in support of the protesters (and many of them are), then this attack on the form of protest loses its legs. Plus, black people in this country are REPEATEDLY told that their form of protest is unacceptable so I call bullshit on people attaching this form of protest as it represents a peaceful protest that has generated discussion, whether the right wants to hear it or not.

He needs to give this up already. Man his ego must be the size of Trump's. As an employer I can choose not to hire anyone for any reason with 4 things being the exception. Race Gender Sexual Orientation Religion He not claiming any of that. I am tired of him and his smug face trying to be in the limelight. He definitely likes himself a little too much.

The Raiders shit on their season because the backup to the fragile Derek Carr is an incompetent QB, EJ Manual. Agreed, Kaepernick is no John Unitas, but he's a damn site better than EJ. I'm a Bills fan. I've seen EJ. Potentially, the worst starting NFL QB. He has nothing. The Raiders, a team that historically has scooped up trouble children, a fan base that wouldn't give a Fiddler's Fuck about controversy, still thinks EJ is a better QB that Colin and trusts their season to this oaf. Let me know when you run out of snide comments

This is all about risk/reward and nobody sees him worth the risk given his price tag, declining play, and holier than thou opinion of himself. If he was a better player, he'd have a job. This isn't complicated, it's simple math.

While he might not be at the skill level he was during the 49ers Super Bowl run (and without Jim Harbaugh too), there isn't a person on earth who could convince me he isn't better than some of the dreck being put on the field on Sundays. No, he's not Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees. But he's better than whatever recycled POS QBs the Browns and 49ers have and whatever other shitty backups you wanna name. If Carson Wentz got hurt I'd rather have Kaepernick than fucking Nick Foles. So yes, I believe 100% he was colluded against. I also believe 100%, unless he has some emails or witnesses or something, he'll never prove it.

Nobody wants to pay him for what he brings the table. The pluses don't outweigh the minuses to them. How hard is that to understand?
