I'm not sure if I'm remembering the title of a Vincent Price starring anthology film adapted from three Poe works correctly. It had a segment called The Black Cat. I believe the entire film's title is Tales Of Terror. Is this the correct title?

If you liked that one, I would recommend Twice-Told Tales as well, It's a similar Price vehicle using Nathaniel Hawthorne. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twice-Told_Tales_(film)

I agree, Naterdawg, though Twice-Told Tales goes to show just how influential those Corman Poe adaptations were. Essentially old Hollywood hand Sidney Salkow tried to do same for Nathaniel Hawthorne. It's not bad, it just isn't Corman. I like the first entry, Dr. Heidegger's Experiment, the best. Vincent Price and Sebastian Cabot made a wonderful team, and the production values were excellent. There was also, due to the tragic nature of the tale, a strong emotional quality to it, a genuine sadness, one seldom find in the Poe pictures. The final tale, a condensed The House Of The Seven Gables was actually well done, I thought even as it wasn't faithful to the original. I think that under the circumstances, given what Salkow & Company had to worth with, they made a rather decent ersatz Corman wannabe pic, using a different author's work to base the stories on.
