My awareness of them goes back to the days of their great QB Bernie Kosar but whenever I check out their results, They lose

Quite a few times, including during the Kosar era. The mid to late 80s Browns were the source of the "Kardiac Kids" nickname. They kept making it to the playoffs but kept losing. Between 85 and 89 they lost the conference championship game three times, the divisional playoffs once, and the wild card playoffs once. The problem is that they haven't had a winning season since 2007. Prior to that it was 2002, when they lost the divisional playoffs, then there's the three-year gap where there was no team, and prior to that, there was only one other winning season since that mid-late 80s run, 1994. So it's only been three winning seasons in almost 30 years. Here's a page with all of their basic season stats: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Cleveland_Browns_seasonsI follow the Browns--they're my #2 team, as I was born in Cleveland and still have a ton of family in Ohio (although I was primarily raised in Miami, which is why the Miami teams are my #1s). It's been bad enough that yesterday I actually felt good about the Browns scoring a couple touchdowns in that loss, and not losing with a score of only 3, which is what it looked like was going to happen for much of that game. Of course I was happier about the way the Dolphins turned around the game yesterday. That first half they looked about as bad as I've ever seen them look. I don't know what happened to them at halftime, but I'm glad whatever happened did. (And Atlanta seemed to have the reverse happen.)

They won several championships in two different leagues back in the late 40s-early 50s. Their last championship was in the early 60s I believe, but they've haven't won it all since the AFL-NFL merger, hence no 'Super Bowl' titles.

I think they won 10 games in 2007. They've haven't been anything but an atrocious joke the past decade. They are the biggest joke of a franchise in any professional sports. How anyone in Cleveland or anywhere else can support that team is beyond me, they are a travesty

If you are talking about the Browns since 1999, they were 9-7 and made the playoff in 2002 and 10-6 in 2007.
They were also one of the greatest franchise in NFL history, winning 8 championship from 1946 to 1964 with one of the greatest coach in history, Paul Brown. They also went to the AFC Championship game 3 times in 4 years from 1986 to 1989, losing to the Broncos all 3 times.

These Browns only go back as far as 1999. They're a completely different franchise than the Kosar, Jim Brown, Otto Graham versions. Those Browns are now the Ravens. The current Browns had winning records in 2002 and 2007 and that's it.

Officially, the National Football League, Pro Football Hall of Fame, Browns, and Ravens all recognize the current Browns team as a continuation of the team founded in 1946.

This is definitely the confusing part. Technically the NFL recognize the 1996 Baltimore Ravens as an expansion team, not the 1999 Browns.

OKC Thunder shouldn't get to claim the championship won by the Seattle SuperSonics in 1979. When a team changes cities, it's a new team as far as I'm concerned-- especially if the team changes its name (which should also be a requirement).

Yeah, officially in the record books, but they're really not. This is so dumb. When a franchise moves, the franchise moves. You can't link a brand new one to the history of the old one like some unsuccessful skin graft.

You can't link a brand new one to the history of the old one like some unsuccessful skin graft. Whatever the record books call them, the Ravens didn't have an expansion draft like the Vegas Golden Knights. One year they were Browns, the next they were the Ravens. They were the same fucking players. Are you saying the Colts have no connection to Baltimore or the Dodgers have no connection to Brooklyn?
