I was so excited to see this movie and really disappointed when I didn’t get a chance to see it on the big screen. I rented it over the weekend and I have to say I really didn’t like it at all. I thought it was flat and uninteresting. Even the lead actor was boring. I was shocked that I didn’t like it, because I did think the previews looked good and it got an overwhelming positive response.

I thought it looked dumb from the start, but I decided to give it s shot after some positive buzz from friends. I ended up disliking it, but not for the reasons I expected to. I didn't mind the central protagonist, I just thought the movie was boring. There are very few action scenes and most of the characters are as you said, very flat and uninteresting. I thought the movie could have done so much more with the idea of using music to supplement the action scenes.

I liked it but I can see why people would think this is a classic case of style over substance.

I really enjoyed it, however there are stronger films in the genre. I could see many derivatives of 'Heat', and subsequently 'The Town', including the apparently fresh ending. Albeit it was a nice take, and the music helped to freshen up the possibilities of the genre.

I thought the whole thing was boring: the lead, the love interest, the villains (Jon Bernthal was absolutely wasted), the action scenes. I even thought the music was overused and that was supposed to be a strength. I also thought the movie would be funnier.

I feel like I'm missing something with all Edgar Wright's movies. I've never disliked any of his movies, he's certainly the best aesthetic filmmaker of his comedy director peers, but I just don't see them as these great genre deconstructions that everyone else does. Baby Driver has some well done done action sequences, but months after seeing it I can't tell you the plot of the movie, I can't even list songs off the soundtrack. I doubt there will ever be a day where I feel like watching a car movie and reach for Baby Driver over Drive, Death Proof, Vanishing Point, etc.
