I know not everyone has pets and I know not everyone that has pets likes cats. But I lost my feisty little angel today and I'm totally depressed.
He was a tough, vocal, mischievous little guy, lots of personality for a cat, and perfectly healthy as far as I knew. It was very sudden, a seizure of some kind. He went from fine to dead in five minutes. I tried CPR but it didn't do the trick. Not how I thought I'd start the day.
I have all these memories of him. He was one of my favorite pets I ever had and he wasn't with me long enough. Right about now I'd give anything to have him back.
RIP my little Roscoe 2015-2017
EDIT: Sorry to spill my stuff on everyone, and thank you SO much to everyone for all the kind words. Its gratifying to see this much humanity, since the internet usually brings out the ugly instead. Peace

I'm sorry about that lenlenlen1. Been there, done that, I feel your pain. It's the sad part of having animals, but so sudden like that and at a young age. I wonder if he got into/ate something he shouldn't have? Young cats (and dogs) are curious critters and are good at finding things that can hurt them.

Nearly all my past pets were cats. I haven't had any since the last one passed. Sorry that you've lost yours.

I'm sorry for your loss.
I had a cat that was part Russian Blue and part plain ol' moggy (so he was like an abnormally large Russian Blue). Although we always treated him right, he would bite, scratch and tear up bed sheets. However, when it eventually came time for him to be taken to the vet to be put to sleep (because of old age, not because of his temperament), it was still very hard. I was a bit surprised with myself at how upset I was, as he was never an overly affectionate cat at all, but that didn't make having to say goodbye to him any easier. I haven't had a cat since.

I'm terribly, terribly sorry, lenlenlen1. It's always devastating, no matter how long or short the life. About the best I can offer you is the reminder that you gave little Roscoe a very happy one (which is more than all too many kitties get), of which I'm sure simply because of the fact that it was important to you to share your grief. That means he was loved and cared for. Those are the things for which he depended on you, and that he was fortunate to have had.

I was going to give some typical response like this is the hardest thing to do, yada, yada, yada, but when I saw the end of your post I was shocked. Two years old, that's just so sad. I don't even have the right words for that. That's devastating. my condolences.

Having had cats myself, it doesn't matter if their young or old, they leave a certain emptiness when they go to cat heaven. I know the sadness and I feel for you.

Sorry for your loss.
We had a cat ourselves. He died last year. It was terrible, especially for the children. So, I can imagine what you're feeling.

We don't agree politically, but I can certainly relate to losing a pet. My cat was 16 years old when she died of a seizure also. Before that, she was always perfectly healthy.
The word 'pet' doesn't begin to describe what they mean to us and what they add to our lives.

I'm so sorry. I too have a cat, and I know how I would feel if I lost her. To lose one so young...I have no words.

I'm sorry for your loss. I can relate. Just this past May my girlfriend and I lost our dog. I woke up one night for work (I work the night shift). When I woke up she was playing in the living room. When she heard me go into the bathroom to get ready she ran in to say hello. She left the bathroom and a few minutes later I heard a loud thud. My girlfriend started yelling my name so I went in to see what was going on. Our dog couldn't walk and its head was sitting in a wierd position. Her eyes were moving all around not focusing on anything. I was afraid that she had possibly had a stroke. We took her to the vet and my fear was confirmed. She had suffered a bad stroke and the vet said that recovery wasn't probable. We made the hard decision to put her down.
I know how you feel and what you're saying about the emptiness. It's something that you never get over. You just learn to accept it.

Sorry to hear about your cat Lenlenlen1. I love animals and have had a lot of pets over the years including a cat and I can say from experience losing a pet is always hard 'cause they are like a part of your family. Just know wherever your cat is now I am sure he is happy and would want you to be happy too.
