I am sorry to hear about your cat, losing a pet is always difficult no matter how old they are,it can feel like losing a friend or family member.I unfortunately lost a dog and a cat last year so i understand how you are feeling.I actually still think about them and miss them both a lot even though it has been about a year.I hope you start feeling better soon.

I know not everyone has pets and I know not everyone that has pets likes cats. But I lost my feisty little angel today and I'm totally depressed.
He was a tough, vocal, mischievous little guy, lots of personality for a cat, and perfectly healthy as far as I knew. It was very sudden, a seizure of some kind. He went from fine to dead in five minutes. I tried CPR but it didn't do the trick. Not how I thought I'd start the day.
I have all these memories of him. He was one of my favorite pets I ever had and he wasn't with me long enough. Right about now I'd give anything to have him back.
RIP my little Roscoe 2015-2017
EDIT: Sorry to spill my stuff on everyone, and thank you SO much to everyone for all the kind words. Its gratifying to see this much humanity, since the internet usually brings out the ugly instead. Peace Sorry to hear that..... More kind words from more of us.

My deepest sympathy for your loss..... The Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

ZolotoyRetrieverHi Zolo, I remember your name from the old boards. I peek in here now and then. Not much going on. The old IMDB community is split and splintered. Nothing is quite the same.

Many years ago I lost my first cat (Little Palette), I mentioned it on Classic boars, and I got so much support back then from classic board back then 16 years ago, I promissed myself if it ever happens to somebody else I would do the same.
Little Palette loved poppy seads (??, better than cat food) and jumping up on my shoulder when I least expected it and beeing combed, and fight with he comb, sadly I also did see the day she passed away.
Remember the good times!
Cat's are wonderful mysterious creatures

Just wanted to say, so sorry about the loss of your cat. I had a Dachshund that passed away in 2006. He was 11 years old. Apparently, he was born with a heart condition according to the vet. He died right on the floor with his eyes open. It was such a sad day. It's not something I can easily forget. When I had him cremated, the animal hospital gave me a piece of paper with the Rainbow Bridge, just as Gubbio posted. I thought it was so sweet, yet so sad. I keep it on the wall in my bedroom, along with a picture I took of him in the late '90s. I'm not religious by any means, but it always gives me a warm feeling inside.

You might want to check out the Classic Film board here. Many good posts, and posters, are there (many of whom you'll recognize from the old board). No troll problems, either. Give it a look:

I'm sorry man. That blows.
About two years ago I lost my 13 year old dog and it was real hard for about a month. I was a complete mess.
My only advice is to not bottle anything up. Just let it all out and before you know it you'll be thinking of only the good times.
God bless.

Just let it all out and before you know it you'll be thinking of only the good times. God bless. Thanks. My long sordid story with pets is that I've actually lost pets before (I guess we all have) but usually due to old age or illness, so while it was still sad at least I knew it was coming and that their time had just come. But this was an extremely sudden event with a very young, very active and outwardly healthy cat. The extra added frustration of not knowing how or why this happened, and not being able to do anything about it, makes it that much more hard to deal with.
It got me to thinking, what if something like that had happened to a person I loved, a child of mine say? Its hard to contemplate.
But as for the good memories? I'm already there. I still get a little choked up, but I do remember the fun we shared, with a smile instead of a tear.

Take your trolling elsewhere shiteater. A thread about someone's pet passing away isn't the place. is that directed at me or nausea?

A stray cat showed up at our door with half a mouse as a bribe to get inside. After my wife and I relented, the new cat proceeded to drive us crazy, feuding with our old cat, gobbling her (and our cat's) meals then throwing up wherever we failed to put down plastic, scratching in all the wrong places, and infesting all of us with fleas. But she had the saddest eyes imaginable and would crawl into my lap, place her forepaws on my chest and stare deep into my eyes and seem to plead, "Love me, please". This summer, after we had her for a year and a half she bloated up and we concluded she had gotten pregnant on one of her escapes outside. Resigned, I stocked up on extra cat food. When her pregnancy began to seem interminable we decided to take her to the vet. We presumed we would come home with a mama cat and six kittens. Instead the vet said she was dying and in pain and needed to be euthanized immediately. Shocked, we relented. But the vet botched the injection and the cat suddenly leapt from the table and began staggering around the floor vomiting and howling in pain and terror. The vet and his assistant pinned her down and after the second injection started to work the cat slowly relaxed and quit breathing. But she died teeth bared and her face locked in a snarl of rage I will never forget. My wife and I still feel we betrayed her.
Please know I that understand your pain after so short a time with your cat and please accept my condolences.

Please know I that understand your pain after so short a time with your cat and please accept my condolences. Thank you. And I am sorry for your loss too. Even more so for how her last moments went. Sorry you had to go through that. You sound like big hearted people.
Please do not feel that you betrayed her. You did the right thing. She was suffering. I know because that happened to another cat I had in the past. If I'm correct its called FIP, Feline Immuno Parovirus. The cats belly becomes bloated, filled with liquid (the seeming pregnancy), and the cat starts to become lethargic and ill. Trust me, there's no cure and it was only going to get worse. It was another awful experience I had to go through.
Also, and I'm so sorry to give you more bad news, its extremely contagious (not to dogs or humans thank god). Cats get it by licking each other. You should really get your cats to the vet and let them know what happened. I hope I'm wrong and that your cats are all healthy.
Good luck and thank you for the good thoughts. They are returned.
