WB Launches Oscars For Your Consideration Page for Wonder WomanWarner Bros. has launched their For Your Consideration Oscars campaign page, which lists the movies – Blade Runner 2049, Dunkirk, The LEGO Batman Movie, and Wonder Woman – they plan on submitting for the 90th Academy Awards in 2018. The Oscars have 24 total categories, and the studio plans on submitting Wonder Woman for 15 of the film’s 16 “eligible” categories, including Best Cinematography, Best Actress, Best Director, and Best Picture. The only “eligible” category the movie isn’t being submitted for is Best Actor, and that’s because Wonder Woman doesn’t have a lead actor; Chris Pine was a supporting actor. There’s no denying the impact Wonder Woman had not only on the filmmaking industry but on society in general. Before Jenkins and Warner Bros. told Diana Prince’s story on the big screen, the DC Comics superhero was always a beacon of hope and strength for women around the world. After all, she was initially named a U.N. Honorary Ambassador of Gender Equality, before eventually being stripped of the title due to online backlash. While no one’s refuting Wonder Woman‘s cultural impact, people may be curious as to the movie’s actual chances at the Oscars next year. Since the Oscar-bait season has only begun, it’s impossible to tell what the movie’s prospects really are, but the film certainly has a chance at snatching up awards in the technical categories, such as Best Costume Design, Best Visual Effects, and Best Sound Editing, among others. What’s more, considering the turmoil surrounding The Weinstein Company (a studio that usually sweeps at the Oscars), it’s possible that Wonder Woman may stand a chance at competing in one of the coveted categories

If Wonder Woman even gets nominated for best actress or best picture, it will be a joke.

The best choice for a nod is for music, whether it be for the score or best original song.

I wish them luck but the fact they even want to consider David Thewlis or Danny Huston for an Oscar nod shows how desperate they really are. Even you DC-Fan can't make an argument that Thewlis or Huston gave Oscar-worthy performances. But the fact that Logan isn't even being considered or FOX isn't campaigning for it shows that they deserve it because honestly, the Oscar is all about the money and how much each studio is willing to pay to even get an nomination. When you think about it too, when a flick’s biggest claim to fame is that it sucked a considerable bit less than the films that preceded it, do you really call that an Oscar-worthy an accomplishment? The only reason why anyone’s still talking about Wonder Woman is because it featured a female lead. Because of PC gender/breaking the glass ceiling politics. And with the whole thing of Weinstein and the #metoo trend on social media, it kinda just feels like Hollywood making amends to women by giving them Oscars. Stuff that needs to stay out of the Academy's. I wish Patty luck, I really do but I hope they are shown the same scrutiny as any other film may be by the academy. If women really want equality, then they should be fine with receiving the same scrutiny and criticism as a regular film would.
That all having been said, it's pretty obvious that Oscars go to whomever spends the most money campaigning, quality be damned. The Oscars have always been a sham and its just another chance for DC-Fan to validate himself because DC has an Oscar while the MCU doesn't.

Oh wow, I didn't even realize that. Wonder Woman has been getting all the buzz about the Oscar. But the rest of what I said, which I know you're going to blatantly ignore because I'm right, still stands and you're welcome to try and offer a rational and sane rebuttal, Nancy

Oh wow, I didn't even realize that.[/quote Because you always make up lies without checking the facts. Wonder Woman has been getting all the buzz about the Oscar. Because Wonder Woman is rated the best superhero movie of all time and is a stronger contender for a Best Picture Oscar nomination than Logan. It's similar to the Heisman Trophy. The stronger contenders get more buzz throughout the season than other contenders. the rest of what I said, which I know you're going to blatantly ignore because I'm right, still stands and you're welcome to try and offer a rational and sane rebuttal I've already destroyed all of your weak arguments. All you're doing is making weak excuses and denials. I can see that you're really upset and bothered that Wonder Woman is a strong contender for a Best Picture Oscar nomination.

Saying it doesn't make it true, Nancy. You haven't given one argument why I'm wrong with what I wrote besides Logan campaigning for an Oscar. That was a mishap on my part. But the fact you can't rebut any of my other claims shows you know that I'm right. Typical you, you run away like a little bitch when you've been beaten. Seriously, convince me that David Thewlis or Danny Huston deserve Oscars for their roles. I really want you to try and come up with a compelling argument why they should get one. Convince me that gender politics or the PC Liberal agenda isn't influencing the Academy. Tell me I'm wrong that one of the biggest things Wonder Woman has going for it that makes it good is that it sucked a considerable bit less than the films that preceded it. Why am I wrong? Give me an argument. Seriously, you play coy with everyone thinking you're better, when really, you're just a lousy debater and petulant little child because the MCU is still successful and that Thor will be another hit for them.

Hate to burst your bubble but studios do this more frequently than you expect, and in Warner Bros.' case they tried a campaign for The Dark Knight Rises and it didn't land a single nomination at the award ceremony.

The score is the worst part about DCEU movies. Seriously the worst part. That theme song they have is terrible and they play it in every movie.

Wonder Woman is a fantastic movie.
I thoroughly enjoyed it...saw it twice in the theater...one of my favorite films of the year hands down.
It does not deserve a best picture nomination, nor do any of the acting performances.
Outside of the Tech categories including Sound Mixing etc... Music, I would consider...may even give it an outside shot at Screenplay...possibly even Adapted Screenplay.
The only prestigious one I could potentially see it getting would be Best Director, but that's a dark Horse.

Oscar campaigns for films is no big deal and no indication of nomination. Many studios put up films that have no chance in some categories. There have been campaigns in the past for some terrible films. There was a push for Fast & Furious 7 for best pic, and ditto this year for the new Transformers film

Maybe you could for once understand that a statement of fact in response to one of your threads/posts is sometimes nothing more than just that....a statement of fact. No worry, no panic. You seem to care a lot more than you think I do.
