Not me, but some used to think (and some may still do) that the songs "This Beat Goes On" and "Switchin' to Glide" were by The Kinks. They're by The Kings.

When I first heard 'TB Sheets', I thought it was Mick Jagger singing.

When I have my iPod on random and Muse pop up, there are a few tracks I think are forgotten Depeche Mode or Smashing Pumpkins album tracks (until the vocals arrive).

Very first time I heard Billy Joel, I thought, "whoah, Harry Chapin finally got some energy."
First time I heard Sultans of Swing, I thought it was Dylan.
