You ever see those ads that seem to pop up on various sites with vaguely ominous warnings about "The 3 Foods You Should Never Eat," or, "The One Carb You Should NEVER Have after 50" etc.?
Has anybody compiled a list of all these terrible things we're not supposed to eat? I mean, if you click one of those links, it sends you to some long-winded infomercial that takes about an hour before they even get to the point. I watched one of them once, and I remember one of the foods they were warning you about was wheat grass, and some other thing, I believe it was some sort of berry, like a Goji berry? Also, soy. Soy was really, really bad according to this one infomercial. But it took a LONG time for them to get to the point.
Anybody else watch any of those videos and have some "forbidden foods" to add to the list?

No. I find the best way to stay in shape is with exercise especially running and walking and I eat chocolates, lollies, chips, biscuits and some other junkfoods and never put on any weight 'cause I stay healthy and I don't eat too much of them. It also helps that I am a vegetarian and I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and every vegetarian and vegan I know that had trouble staying fit lost a lot of weight when they gave up eating meat.

No haven't heard of either. I really lucked out with the whole dieting thing. I had a growth spurt in high school and have a really high metabolism. It's like Shaggy. Of course I still exercise but nevertheless it's pretty hard for me to gain an unhealthy amount of weight.

Anybody else watch any of those videos and have some "forbidden foods" to add to the list? I did once just out of curiosity - big mistake there . IMPO - Just ignore those discouraging ads because it seems the " generalized information " presented there does not apply to everyone's overall health background either . Certain people may have health issues of a different kind possibly of a family genetic nature that may or may not be easily corrected . Again all of this In My Personal Opinion of course . Thanks ZolotoyRetriever for your subject post .

My issues with these lists are they are always changing. I mean how often have we heard salt is bad? Then we read we need it. Moderation is the key. Denying yourself certain foods often makes you crave them more. Well, except soda. I cut that out three years ago refuse to touch a drop of it.

I mainly quit soda due to all bad things I read about it. I get chronic migraines and one trigger is dehydration. Soda offers no hydration at all. All the sugar in soda is scary too. Just Google pictures and you will see how much. I also needed to lose a lot of weight. So all those and finally seeing a photo myself and not liking how I looked triggered the will to give it up. I quit cold turkey. I downloaded an app called Quit For Health I think and tracked how much money I saved & sugar I was avoiding. That was motivation. It's been 3yrs now. I still get migraines but not as bad or often. I'm down 20+ pounds too.

It wasn't based on anything that I felt was alarming about sodas, it was just part of me changing my menu to having way less carbs and sugar in it. So, things like beer and sodas had to go. I never drank much in the way of soft drinks anyway, so it wasn't too hard to quit.
