As you might know, the new Beauty & the Beast movie by Disney has a gay character. What do you think about it? Have the liberals gone too far? Personally i strongly disagree. Kids & family were the only movies where it was possible to relax from the every day madness.

I feel the same way soon they will have movies solely about kids and all their confusing as hell "gender types"(seems to be in the hundreds) Jesus. Its really hard enjoying family movies these days.

No, obviously.
you can't brainwash kids into thinking that stuff is totally normal/okay from a early age, since it's not.
but those who don't believe in God (The Holy Trinity(Father/Son(Jesus Christ)/Holy Spirit)) are much more likely be brainwashed with this modern trend or to accept it which is pushing the gay agenda pretty hard over the last 15 years or so. the country needs to stick to it's more Christian roots/standards of living as when you dump those and go with the secular trends things tend to get worse as look at the USA over the last 50 years it's taken a solid hit and look were things are going with school shootings etc etc.
i would not be surprised if pedophile stuff is accepted eventually or looked at as not that bad given the moral decline of society in general as with the liberals it never ends as many of them go against God's standards of living and you lose in the long term going against God. they will have to learn the hard way.
you need some standard for which to strive to live by (i.e. God's standards basically) as if you make things up as you go long things tend to decline a little here and a little there and it's not hard to see were this leads long term.
just further lowering of the standards... instead of sticking to what's common sense which is either one is male or female given what they are born with by nature you got the liberals even questioning that with this whole bathroom thing. it never ends with them.

Time will come when homosexuality is as normal as white bread. Pockets of resistance will probably stay around well into the colonization of outer planets phase, but yes, white bread and same-sex giddy up will be side by side in the ranks of normality. We might as well get to getting there, so gay Disney characters sounds like a reasonable rung on the enlightenment ladder to the stars.

Kids & family were the only movies where it was possible to relax from the every day madness. It's a weird, friendly kind of discrimination that categorises life and says "put this type of person in in order to please people and keep everything equal," completely uninspired and fascist, but then what would I know, maybe a gay character works for the film and was an inspired choice not from any political correctness system. I hate that kind of control, it's not about unity at all, it just divides, and yet they claim it's about unity, but it's still based on shallow identity and appearance, making space for someone because of their race or gender or sex is still discrimination in exactly the same way as excluding someone for race, gender or sex, it's still confining people and life to shallow identity/race/features/sex etc. I hate anything like that, that says "this type of thing is good," or "this type of thing is bad" as it's going by type and imposing a system of discrimination that blocks inspiration and feeling, disruptive black-and-white. I've seen this kind of thing pollute many films, disturbingly a lot of family films/kids films, like indoctrination. Kids & family were the only movies where it was possible to relax from the every day madness. I disagree, any great film helps you relax from every day madness and washes it away, no matter what it is about, if you're willing to take a step back yourself. It's just the best films, of any genre or era, were never skin-deep. Even films filled with brutal violence/horror can be uplifting for the ideas and themes and the way they're expressed, never violence for the sake of violence like in sadistic control-freak films.

No. Having gay characters/studios pushing a gay agenda has no place in a family film.

As a lesbian myself, my only request is that story telling and good characters should always come first. As long as you have those, I could care less about the race, gender, or sexuality of any character. As long as things are handled respectfully, of course kids and family films should be allowed to have gay characters, it's not like being gay is the only thing that defines us.

I think Belle should be transgender, the Beast should be gay, and Gaston could be gender-neutral. That's really the ONLY way I'll enjoy a new Beauty and the Beast.

How would Mickey Mouse react if he saw two male characters kissing on the mouth?

I don't know that kids & family movies "should" have gay characters. But, they should reflect the people that make up our society. Just the way you expect to see blacks, Hispanics, Asians, etc. in the movie because they are the people we live with in society, if a gay person naturally works into the story, I don't have a problem with it. I don't think the movie should be about that person, or over emphasize that person, but you should not pretend that gay people do not exist when making a movie, even when making a kids & family movie.

How about a third option for me like "I don't care" or "it all depends"? As long as it doesn't feel too gratuitous, come across as agenda shoving, get a lot of emphasis, or mess the story/characters up in a big way, it should be a non-event at best. I'm all for a little progressive element and social concept to take place in a media, even a family aimed one, depending on how it was done. This also applies to other elements that involves race, gender, religion, and such. We're kinda in that new 'age' now in a way. I think camimac also has a good answer too.
