The only relevant topic here is how pissed you are. Looks good on you champ! Whatever you say, Texas Pete! So is Texas Pete an insult where you live? Is it affectionate or perhaps something you say to someone you are interested in? It seems very arbitrary. Like saying to someone "Whatever you say, Paul Newman's salad dressing." I hope that isn't a mean spirited insult also. If so I didn't actually mean it.

I never said that I support a policy to exclude, as in never show for any reason, such people. Really? In a thread about "should kids & family movies have gay characters" I said I couldn't see why not, and you replied "Because whatever your stances on gay people are, it is a highly divisive issue in society that should not be paraded around such movies." That seems like you're saying they should be excluded to me. Perhaps I misunderstood you. There's a "tidal wave" of gay Disney characters, really? That may be so - I don't watch that many Disney movies, honestly. How many are there, as a percentage of all Disney characters? Well, if the shoe fits... As I said before, this is a null argument.

All well and good but WHY must there be diversity? For the sake of diversity? So people can then pat themselves on the back? If people want to make films and foist 'diversity', that is fine. TV is saturated with such shows, most of which are terrible. And let's not fool anyone. This is not real diversity we're talking about. It's only diversity of skin color or sexual orientation. Not diversity of thought. Diversity of any kind is important and should be represented in film. Movies are about representing life. Why should all the characters be straight and none gay? Why should there be diversity? Because diversity is part of society and animated films are about dealing with things that we deal with in real life and homosexuality is something that exists in society. The only movies thst represent life are biographies, biopics and those based on a true story or true events.

The character inf Beauty and the Beast isnt even gay. It was the director trying to drum up controversy for the film. All eh does is dance with a man. Its not like they are shown kissing, fondling or laying in bed together. If they hadn't mentioned it no one would have thought anything of it.

There is a sodomy scene but it will only be available in the NC-17 Directors cut sold in select cities and during Disney Park's Gay Days. The "twist" is LeFou is a top.

"and during Disney Park's Gay Days." So, every day of the year. Hmmmmm could that explain why sales of chocolate covered bananas and fish tacos have skyrocketed at Disney theme parks?

Thank you for that doghouse. I am in such agreement with you that I am now having doubts about my contributions to this thread - heartfelt as they have been. In fact, I am wondering if I should even have participated in the vote.
It was clear from the get-go that your intentions were the best, so all is well. Having spent the last decade contributing regularly to various political blogs, I know how tempting it can be to get pulled into skirmishes (of which I've certainly had my share) with people like Conspirologist and others on this thread who are quickly revealed to have excluded themselves from the sphere of rational discourse, claiming unassailable authority on matters about which they clearly know nothing, and which are fueled instead by a combination of only supposition, urban legend and old wives' tales, deliberate disinformation and outright hysteria. But I figure they may also provide a public service in their small ways: during the national debate over marriage equality, for instance, I noticed that the more hysterical opposition became, the more public support for legal equality increased (as, presumably, more and more people concluded, "What a bunch of crackpots...the hell with them and their nonsense"). Plus, the more time the crackpots spend at their keyboards firing off furious messages full of vitriol, the less time they're out in the real world doing serious damage. That's another terrific post doghouse6, and there is so much I could say in reply. But it is sunday morning and I haven't even had my first cup of coffee yet, so perhaps a song will suffice. Here, with love from Africa, is the one and only Vusi Mahlasela with a song for you. www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1l6-vyvW6M

Heck, why bother even having gender specific characters. Just make all the characters andorgynous. Just cut sexuality out all together so kids dont have to learn anything about how different people are or how it doeant matter what your gender or sexuality is. Lets just teach all the kids how to judge one another for being different.

Phrasing.

I don't think any harm came from it. There is a difference between transgender and crossdressing though. He still identifies himself as a male in private, but passes off as a human female in public to hide his true identity. Like how Mulan disguised herself to join the army. It wouldn't make sense to call Ping a transgender in that case.

It's been a few years since I've seen it though. I may need to rewatch it. Cute Cartoon! The movie is one of my favorites.

Adults get hung up on sexuality way more often than kids do. Kids don't care if someone is gay or a man wears a dress. That said, I don't see why we need to specifically target children about these issues. The adults of the world need to figure out how to navigate these things in our population first. Children will follow where we lead them.
