This was something I never really gave much thought to, until it was pointed out to me in this excellent YouTube video.
The movies are excellent, and I love watching them, but there isn't a single piece of memorable music in any of them.
Watch what a difference subtle changes in the way these movies are scored, add to the emotional weight of different scenes.

I agree. Apart the Iron Man score by AC/DC, all the other musical choices are forgettable.

Iron Man scored by AC/DC is always a good choice. Anyway, I have a feeling like Marvel is not putting enough efforts in the making of their movies. Apart of a few good scenes the whole movies are usually forgettable. It's like only business by milking the cow, nothing like the great, original comics books.

I thought The Winter Soldier's score was amazing and should have been reused for Civil War.

There's music in Marvel MCU movies?!
Maybe I wasn't straining hard enough to listen over the Poor Man's Joss Whedon dialogue that was hip in 1997 or the overblown explosions, etc., that pass for plot development. Humbug!

The MCU definitely but Raimi's Spider-Man films, X-Men(2000), Hulk, Logan and even Daredevil have memorable scores that enhance the movies imo.

That's true but in all fairness so are the villains, the plot and most of the dialogue. Let's be honest. If you can remember a Marvel movie 3 hours after you saw it you're a virgin.

coldenhaulfieldwell you surely would agree most movies are nothing special, right? so assuming you agree with that... then what i said seems likely true in general. p.s. while most movies get a Thumbs Down from me i will say this... most movies i see are good enough to have not wasted my time.

I would definitely agree that most movies are nothing special, but what I find enjoyable even in "bad" films are little touches, human moments, unique or quirky or funny aspects, and so on. These Disney McMarvel movies are so corporate, so antiseptic, and so soulless as to lack really any of that. I think the most genuine, human, interesting scene in any of the McMarvel movies would be the wordless, twenty-second stinger after The Avengers. That was better than the entire movie that preceded it.

^Check that. I guess the Thanos thing is the stinger. Anway: the stuff at 0:30; brilliant.

Alas, other than Patrick Doyle's score for Thor, I'd have to agree.

If you mean Marvel movies are the definition of lowest common denominator please the masses at the sacrifice of a unique artistic vision then you are right.

No, just that they embrace their comic-bookiness instead of going for that pretentious route Nolan and Singer went for with that sell-out "grounded" approach that appeals to people who are ashamed of comic books. "Artistic vision" doesn't count for crap if you're ashamed of comic books to begin with.

The only memorable music score was in The Avengers during the final city battle, expecially when Banner transforms into the Hulk. The only other piece that comes close is the funeral scene in Thor 2 of Frigga which was pretty well directed but that kind of emotion is a dime a dozen in an MCU movie.
The Dark Knight trilogy is the obvious gold standard but that's all down to the wizard genuis Hanz Zimmer.
