Marvel has proven time and time again that an R rating isn't necessary for success or good story telling.

If they do they'll go to Netflix. Or, if it goes to theaters, they'll separate it from the MCU. I can see them doing a sub studio and. doing like the comics, calling it Marvel Knights. Making movies that are more adult oriented. MCU 2. But I can't see them suddenly making a Rated R Iron Man. I've long thought this was a great idea worthy of crossing media platforms. And thought the ready-made, preexisting Knights brand would be perfect, and that they should use some if not all of the old characters. Daredevil, obviously, and Punisher if they've the rights to use him. (Do they?) Ghost Rider, like someone suggested in this thread earlier I think, if they can use the character. Moon Knight, maybe. And so on. Do they do anything currently in terms of uniquely branding the "Defenders" shows -- JJ, DD, Cage, Fist? I've not seen any of them but have heard they're a bit grittier, more methodically paced, and have a sort of a hard-boiled tone to them. Or are they just "MCU" just the same as the new Guardians? They own Ghost Rider and Punisher. Punisher was on Daredevil S2 and getting his own series at the end of the year. And 2 comic book Ghost Riders was on Agents of Shield this year (was a 3rd Ghost Rider, but not from the comics). Those shows are unrated since they are on Netflix. They are in the MCU and, at the same time, out of it. They name drop the movie characters and The Incident (Avengers 1 alien attack) quite a bit. And what do you mean by uniquely branding? If you mean making them different from the movies? Then yes. I think they feel like a midpoint between the XCU and the MCU. That place where the DCEU wants to be. Like a realistic fantasy world.
