If a favorite holiday of yours isn't up there, I promise I didn't mean to offend anyone. I'm going with the biggies in the USA.
I just figured that the thick of it is coming up, so why not? Let's try to stick with "major" holidays because otherwise this will become a real mess. If you truly hate my selection, though, don't forget to specify your alternative!
I think I'm going to go with Christmas. Mainly because I love Christmas movies.

Christmas. People tend to act a bit nicer around that time. Only down side is the act doesn't last the rest of the time.

Thanksgiving because we all need to remember to show our gratitude for all of our blessings. My late sister's birthday was on Christmas day, so that holiday brings up sad memories.

I'm that fella (you'll see my kind everywhere) who loves Christmas and Hallowe'en and bemoans every year how cheaply commercialized they've become. In a way, it sucks all the joy and sense of the transcendent, the numinous, out of it--and I just can't stand that. Which is why I voted for a slightly less commercialized holiday, Thanksgiving, which at least keeps that aspect of family-togetherness, even if (sadly) politics is intruding into it.

Christmas - I like the lights and decorations. I even like looking at Christmas lights that people leave up well into January.

Thanksgiving because for me it means family and my family was such a mess. And I enjoy the day without irony because the family, despite a!l its inevitable faults, is fundamentally crucial.

It used to be Thanksgiving when my grandmother was alive because of the great food, football and immediate family; but now it's Christmas because of the slightly less good food, less good football, and less good extended family.

Christmas, it has a feeling of happiness and coziness. I don't know about thanksgiving since we don't celebrate that here. We also unfortunately don't really celebrate halloween a lot in the Netherlands, but I'm very happy that it's starting to get more and more attention this decade.
