Peter Parker had it bad in the comics, he was bullied by Flash, an outcast, no actual friend characters, his aunt was old and frail, she went really ill at one point and was hospitalised, he was dirt poor, everyone hated Spider-man,his body was a dick etc. Meanwhile Holland's Spider-man has it good. He's not bullied. He has a close friend in Ned, other friends from the spelling thing, a young healthy aunt, a good looking girl liked him, he went on a date to the school dance, he's in good with Iron Man who made him an expensive suit and people have no problem with Spider-man. He's having a ball. That was nothing like the original comic Spider-man. Maguire's Spider-man was definitely most like the original Peter Parker. No he isn't. I've read the original comics and at no point do I ever feel like I'm watching the original Peter Parker from the page on the big screen while being forced to endure Maguire simper and moan his way through each of the films.

Well Tom Holland's is certainly nothing in the slightest like the original Peter Parker. Maguire doesn't really even moan that much actually, he was quite cheerful throughout except for parts of Spider-man 3.

Nah, you are doing that to annoy the Marvel fans, like Roadrunner meep-meeps the Coyote.
The film was mediocre and aimed at children, but it was not awful. It just felt too re-regurgitated and TV-pilot-like to be really interesting. Maybe next one will be better.

Yes, he was, because Parker in the comics could smile and crack jokes despite being lower class. Actually, Mahuire did moan that much. I don't recall many moments of cheer at all.

Maguire's actually moaning may not be high but his general portrayal is mopey as fuck, I mean as Peter were there any actual moments of fun or joy in those films? as Spidey sure but as Peter I found him dull as dishwater and blegh.
Garfields was a little better but then I just never dug that portrayal personally at all, Holland fits a nice balance he's entertaining to watch as both Spidey & Peter for me personally.

It also helps that 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' is not a bad amalgamation of 'Spider-Man 3' and 'The Amazing Spider-Man' that is 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2'.

Toby Maguire's Spider-man wasn't a sad sack. Peter Parker in the comics at least in the 60's was a quiet outcast who had a lot of troubles like looking after his aunt, making money and having trouble with girls. Did you read the very first Spidey comics? Peter was arrogant, wasn't afraid to talk to girls and came off as a misanthrope in the making. He didn't even meet MJ until college...of course movie MJ has more in common with comics Liz Allan than anyone else. He ENJOYS his life, big difference.

THIS EXACTLY!! I remembered the 1 moment of fun we had with Peter and that was when he first swung from a web...right into a fucking building after that it's downhill for Peter and fun imo.

I find it hilarious that someone with a Boba Fett avatar thinks he's in any position to criticize anything about films.

Pal, you should get your meds, you sound depressed. Coming up with some ideas and a bit of inspiration for the next one will suffice. If they can't, I may agree on your solution. Deal.

It's always the same old baseless criticisms with them. Because Marvel movies don't kill everyone and destroy cities there's never any "stakes".

Glad to see you admit Cap has more credibility as a character than Boba Fett does. At least Cap never got taken down by a blind man, and completely by accident.

Why not celebrate the Thor party, and head back into battle tomorrow? This fight will go on as long as the companies don't merge, and if they merge it will get a lot worse.

Um, no, there is always a bigger fish, but Han was not entirely blind, and he was totally distracted by Luke, AAAAND who is to say the Fett really died, it's not can(n)on, it's perfectly poss... ....crap, I'm too old for this without getting paid. I admit Bobba is actually a non-character and just kewl bc he has a awesome suit and does not speak much. His little helmet bathtub-periscope is silly too. You win.

He enjoys his life because he has everything going for him unlike his comic counter part. Where comic Spider-man had to deal with learning how to sew his costume back together, Holland's Spider-man had a hi tech suit he was given for free. Where people hate Spider-man and the cops constantly try to arrest him in the comics. He ain't far off being an Avenger in the movies. He doesn't have a frail old aunt. He's not poor. He's not bullied. He's got friends. He's a very lucky Spider-man.
