It was still far more accurate to how Homecoming portrayed characters. Flash Thompson was still a bully in the Raimi movies. In Homecoming he was a small nuisance and instead of being on the football team...he was on the academic decathlon team... In SMH, the "bully" Flash Thompson is actually a geek on the academic decathlon team. LOL!!! How many bullies were actually geeks in high school? That was so dumb in SMH to make the school "bully" a geek.

A reboot is supposed to do something new with the source material. So they rebooted Spider-Man by making the villain the father of 1 of Peter's classmates. Pretty new. Oh wait . . . that was already done in the earlier movies. So they didn't do anything new with the villain. an unbiased review would also have some positive words to say about the film. What was good about it? No, not saying something positive about a movie doesn't make it biased. If I wrote a review of Fantastic Four (2015), I wouldn't have anything positive to say about it. But that doesn't make me biased against Fox or the Fantastic Four. On the contrary, I've said many times before that I liked the 1st 2 Fantastic Four movies (starring Ioan Gruffeld and Jessica Alba).
But the last Fantastic Four movie (starring Miles Teller and Kate Mara) was just so awful that there wasn't anything positive I could say about it. But that doesn't mean it would be biased. Likewise, SMH was so awful that there wasn't anything positive I could say about it. But that doesn't mean it's biased. It just means that SMH was really awful and didn't have anything positive.

Or because he can still find joy in life despite everything else. He earned it back. Not many people hated him, even Jameson admitted that being wrong about him so much was damaging the Bugle's reputation. And the Cops DID try to shoot at him in this movie. The comics have never been very consistent on this either. Aunt May was never that bad off in the comics, she was always stronger than Peter realized. He just made a mountain out of a molehill. The comics even pointed this out. This Peter and May couldn't even afford a house, they live in an apartment. That makes them less off than the ones that DID have a house. Flashed back off from Peter pretty early on in the comics too. And he has ONE actual friend here. You're quoting the Raimi version more than the actual early comics. And anyways, some of that stuff was outdated anywho. Aunt May was in bad shape financially, they got a lot of last notice bills which Peter would know about but her Aunt would pretend didn't exist so not to worry him. That was why he got a job to help out. The Raimi movies also followed this with Spider-man 2 where Peter refused Aunt Mays birthday money because she had nothing. In Homecoming yeah they don't have a house but there was no financial problem. In SMH, they didn't have any financial problem because restaurants were always giving Aunt May free meals.

So you're comparing Spider-Man: Homecoming to Fant4stic? We're supposed to take you seriously after that?

That was so dumb in SMH to make the school "bully" a geek. It's because the old Bully archetype is outdated. They wanted to try something new by making him a psychological type of bully. But, of course, Flash isn't anything but a harmless nuisance once Peter gets powers.

He still wore glasses after he became Spider-man Peter Parker was bullied because he actually was a huge geek. Tom Holland wasn't bullied nor was he even much of a geek. He wasn't worn glasses in decades. Stop relying on technicalities. Also, the image you presented proves my argument for me. Look at the anger on that face. Maguire's Parker would have just retreated, moping all the way, while the other Spider-Men that followed after him actually displayed the ability to feel enough self-worth to even get indignant. Oh, yes. I went there. I also think Andrew Garfield was a better Parker/Spider-man. Sue me. Also, what formersam said.

So you're comparing Spider-Man: Homecoming to Fant4stic? We're supposed to take you seriously after that? Exactly. 'Fant4stic' is a film that could well be worse than 'The Last Airbender' (which at least had great scores by James Newton Howard), so comparing ANY big-budget film with 'Fant4stic' is a surefire way to flush his/her entire credibility down the toilet.

7.6/10 vs. 3.4/10
And I'm honestly surprised that he hated 'Fant4stic'. With the ENTIRE film made out of nothing but expositions, I thought he would love that film.

Otherwise, he just runs away. Yes, he was a wimp for not being able to speak up for himself.

Your passion really should be channeled towards sports or politics. Your passion really should be channeled towards sports or politics. I don't post on the Politics board because that's a subject that's always going to have a lot of arguments and I don't like to start arguments. I post on the Sports board because I'm a sports fan, but there are a lot of butthurt and immature Patriots fans on the Sports board who are as bad as many of the MCU fans on this board.
Recently, there was a poll on the Sports board asking people which player they want to see get their 1st World Series ring - Clayton Kershaw or Justin Verlander. Someone chose Verlander and wrote that Verlandar had a hot wife. I replied and said I agreed and said that Verlander's wife (Kate Upton) is truly a supermodel, unlike ugly Gisele Bundchen, who has a nose that looks like a giraffe's nose and who is really ugly for a supermodel.
A butthurt and immature Patriots fan got pissed at me for saying that Gisele is really ugly for a supermodel so he replied to my post with "Go kill yourself". So Patriots' fans can't handle people finding Gisele to be less than adequate by supermodel standards just like how some MCU fans here (such as Arf Arf, formersamhmd, and weirdraptor) can't handle people finding flaws in MCU movies.

An interesting comparison. Gisele has been the top supermodel. MCU movies are the top superhero movies. Tom Brady is the top NFL QB of all time. Three indisputable facts and DC-Fan is on the wrong side of the argument in each instance. Coincidence?
