This can include: 1. Inventions invented prior to the 1970s, but came into regular use in that decade. Video games are an example of this.
2. Inventions invented and introduced in the 1970s. VHS and Betamax are examples of this.
3. Inventions invented in the 1970s, but didn't come into regular use until later.
Some of my favourites: VHS/Betamax, video games, home computers, space stations.

Video games and home computers are a big one. I had an Atari VCS (2600) and an Apple IIe. Really fun stuff. Loved the arcades too, a special place and special memories made there.
The Sony Walkman was invented in the late 1970's. I had one throughout the 1980's. The cassette deck in particular was kind of funny, when the batteries started running low the drive mechanism slowed down and as a result the tape played in slow motion. The radio would keep working for a little while longer...
