He died a couple of years later, and the film wasn't successful critically or box-office-wise on release. Maybe he didn't have time or just wasn't incentivised. He was one of the most successful actors at the time (rightfully so, if you ask me); it wasn't like he intended to have a directing career and gave up after his first feature. |
