between Mel Gibson, Danny Glover, and even Richard Donner. TEXT: EXCLUSIVE: It looks like the band just might back together. Deadline hears that Mel Gibson, Danny Glover, Richard Donner are all huddling on the possibility of doing another film for the the Lethal Weapon franchise. In the scenario weโve heard Donner would direct and Channing Gibson (Lethal Weapon 4) would script. There are many moving parts, but weโve heard that all are on board and exploring another film. It would move forward, of course, at Warner Bros., the studio that has brought audiences four in the franchise. The buddy action comedy was a major hit for the studio under the Bob Daly, Terry Semel regime when it first launched in 1987 and together the four have pulled in $955.2M worldwide. The last one was released in 1998. The film also spawned a TV series as well. The Lethal Weapon film franchise followed an LAPD homcide cop (Glover) who is partnered with another cop who was transferred over from the narc squad (Gibson). They are reluctantly paired with very different ideas of policing and have an ongoing feud until the must rely on each other for their lives. www.msn.com/en-us/movies/news/%e2%80%98lethal-weapon%e2%80%99-5-mel-gibson-danny-glover-dick-donner-exploring-it-at-warner-bros/ar-AAu8GuQ?li=BBnb7Kz

it could be done. no kids or torches though please. well maybe a few torches, but none passed. riggs is an older cop and the case involves retired murtaugh, or his expertise is needed, or he just gets involved, or he is captain? happy ending though please.

Riggs had a son at the end of 4, is he or Murtaugh's granddaughter going to be involved? Strike that thought, that's the last thing we need is their kids hooking up. But I WOULD like to see if Riggs' insanity is hereditary.

last i heard there were two scripts, 1 by shane black, that had riggs and murtaugh, possibly in nyc during a snowstorm? (i have suspicions that was misheard) but was turned down because of mel gibsons following problems and also that richard donner would not be asked to direct and the other idea was richard donner's idea, a more lighthearted one where riggs/murtaugh/etc. are on a vacation road trip and have an accident with their trailer and get involved in some sort of mess.

I doubt director Richard Donner would come back considering he's 87 years old.

I doubt director Richard Donner would come back considering he's 87 years old. Probably still looks better than Mel Gibson

dumb idea--Everyone is too old now Much as we would love to see them come back and prove they still got it, this WOULD be the one time they really ARE 'too old for this s**t', ESPECIALLY since Murtaugh's character will be in his 80s now. He'd be retired long ago.
