Michelle Branch - You Get Me (From the album, 'The Spirit Room') I have that album! (as well as her next one, Hotel Paper, as well as the one she did with Jessica Harp - Stand Still, Look Pretty - when they were The Wreckers). I have Buffy the Vampire Slayer to thank for introducing me to Michelle Branch, as it was that show's use of her song 'Goodbye to You' in the Season 6 episode 'Tabula Rasa' that instantly made me take notice of her (the fact that we got to see her perform in the show didn't hurt either, as she was quite easy on the eyes). This song has been one of my favourites of hers ever since and I always remember the use of it in that episode whenever I listen to it. Oddly, 'You Get Me' and 'Drop In The Ocean' were the two songs I didn't like as much as the rest on the album when I first listened to it and I used to skip those two. However, after some years had passed I decided to give both songs another go and I really liked them and now listen to the album in full every time. Just shows how one's taste in songs can change over time. Thanks for posting that song, DebLovesBeccy. I love 'The Spirit Room' too and it is one of my favourite albums of the 00s. I used to listen to it all the time when it first came out and I saw Michelle in that episode of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' you mentioned but it was hearing 'Everywhere' on the radio where I was first introduced to her and when I went to Big W that same week I came across the album in the New Releases section and bought it. Did you know it is not actually her first album and she released an album before it called 'Broken Bracelet?' It was really hard to buy back when 'The Spirit Room' came out 'cause it was an independent release and I paid a lot of money to get it in physical form but you can now get the album on I Tunes. It features some of the songs from 'The Spirit Room' but different versions of them along with 'Paper Pieces', 'Washing Machine' and 'I'll Always Be Right There.' I loved 'Hotel Paper' and her Country Music duo, The Wreckers' 'Stand Still, Look Pretty' album but it has been really disappointing watching her not be able to release any albums for so many years due to a record label keeping her under contract and refusing to let her leave but also refusing to release her albums. I have heard some of the songs she recorded for her unreleased albums and they sounded really good. Thankfully she is free now. Here are two songs from 'Broken Bracelet.'

Thanks for telling me all that^, DebLovesBeccy. I think it may have been just after I heard her song in BtVS that I then heard 'Everywhere' and 'All You Wanted'...or maybe I'd heard those songs first and then heard 'Goodbye to You' in BtVS and loving all three songs was enough to make me rush out and buy the album. It was so long ago now, I forget what order I was introduced to her songs in, but BtVS deserves a lot of the credit in getting me to purchase 'The Spirit Room'. After discovering how much I enjoyed her music, I was looking online for everything about her songs and did read something about that Broken Bracelet album and how hard it was to get a hold of. Thanks for posting those^ two songs from it. I'm listening to them right now and am enjoying them. It's really disappointing to hear why she hasn't been able to release any more albums. I'm not that into country music, but I really liked quite a few of the songs she and Jessica Harp performed as The Wreckers and was sad to hear they were no longer together. I also loved the Hotel Paper album. My favourite song from it would have to be 'Breathe' (and I was surprised it wasn't a bigger hit, as I found it VERY enjoyable/catchy and would listen to it repeatedly). Anyway, thanks again for bringing up Michelle Branch, DebLovesBeccy, as it's gotten me listening to various songs songs of hers on YouTube tonight.

Loved those videos you posted of Electric Youth Chalice_Of_Evil, specially the live version. Thanks for posting them. Have not really been digging too far into their catalog of music, but I also enjoyed very much these two gems which I think would have suited the style and atmosphere of Drive very well. Even though I didn't discover Michelle Branch from watching 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' there were a number of other awesome artists and bands I only discovered watching that show like Bif Naked, K's Choice, Four Star Mary, Ghost of the Robot, Common Rotation, Darling Violetta, Nickel and Emiliana Torrini among others and did you know Angie Hart from Frente! and her former band, Splendid were in two episodes? Another Aussie band that had their music played in the show was Motor Ace with their song, 'American Shoes' and over the coarse of seven seasons 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' had some great music in it and I love the Sundays cover version of 'Wild Horses' and during the first two seasons a poster of Whiskeytown's (Ryan Adams former band) album, 'Stranger's Almanac' can be seen hanging up all over Sunnydale and I think Joss may have been a fan of the band. If I remember correctly there were two versions of Michelle Branch's 'Goodbye to You' and there was the slower version that was taken directly from her 'Broken Bracelet' album and used on 'The Spirit Room' and a slightly faster version that was used as a single. I liked the faster version and am not sure why she didn't use that on 'The Spirit Room' since all the other songs that were originally on 'Broken Bracelet' were different.
The Wreckers were sadly short lived and I don't know why Michelle and Jessica didn't stay together 'cause they were very successful on the Country charts and 'Leave the Pieces' and 'My, Oh My' were Top 10 hits but you might be interested in knowing they released a Live album called 'Way Back Home: Live at New York City' that also featured a song called 'Love Me Like That' which wasn't on their 'Stand Still, Look Pretty' album. I like Country Music and I was a moderator on a Country Music Channel's forum and I got advanced copies of Country Music albums, signed posters and come up with themes and lists of songs for some of the channel's countdown shows. I am mostly into new Country though and not much of the classic stuff. I love Country Music artists and bands like Carrie Underwood, Jessica Andrews, Lila McCann, Martina McBride, Reba, Mackenzie Porter, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, One More Girl, Chely Wright, SheDaisy, Aleyce Simmonds, Chelsea Basham, Kristy Cox, Doc Walker, Emerson Drive, Faith Hill, Trisha Yearwood, Shania Tawin, Paul Brandt, McAlister Kemp, Miranda Lambert, Madeline Merlo, Tori Darke, Kira Isabella, Sarah Buxton, Katrina Elam, Cassadee Pope, Dianna Corcoran, Travis Collins etc and modern Country is very different than Classic Country. If you like the Wreckers you should check out some of them like One More Girl below.

Thanks for that information and those videos, DebLovesBeccy (I think I like the middle one the best, followed by the third one and then the first one). I do remember Angie Hart appearing on BtVS a couple of times (I think I enjoyed her song in the Season 4 premiere the best). She also appeared in an episode of Firefly, I believe. I do own to BtVS albums, but haven't listened to either of them in a long while. I actually really like the version of 'Goodbye to You' on Michelle Branch's The Spirit Room album. I know a lot of people didn't like Season 2 of the TV series True Detective, but I didn't mind it. What I really liked, though, were the songs played by Lera Lynn in the show. I'll also freely admit to liking Shania Twain.
