You're welcome Chalice. Even though I didn't discover Michelle Branch from watching 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' there were a number of other awesome artists and bands I only discovered watching that show like Bif Naked, K's Choice, Four Star Mary, Ghost of the Robot, Common Rotation, Darling Violetta, Nickel and Emiliana Torrini among others and did you know Angie Hart from Frente! and her former band, Splendid were in two episodes? Another Aussie band that had their music played in the show was Motor Ace with their song, 'American Shoes' and over the coarse of seven seasons 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' had some great music in it and I love the Sundays cover version of 'Wild Horses' and during the first two seasons a poster of Whiskeytown's (Ryan Adams former band) album, 'Stranger's Almanac' can be seen hanging up all over Sunnydale and I think Joss may have been a fan of the band. If I remember correctly there were two versions of Michelle Branch's 'Goodbye to You' and there was the slower version that was taken directly from her 'Broken Bracelet' album and used on 'The Spirit Room' and a slightly faster version that was used as a single. I liked the faster version and am not sure why she didn't use that on 'The Spirit Room' since all the other songs that were originally on 'Broken Bracelet' were different.
The Wreckers were sadly short lived and I don't know why Michelle and Jessica didn't stay together 'cause they were very successful on the Country charts and 'Leave the Pieces' and 'My, Oh My' were Top 10 hits but you might be interested in knowing they released a Live album called 'Way Back Home: Live at New York City' that also featured a song called 'Love Me Like That' which wasn't on their 'Stand Still, Look Pretty' album. I like Country Music and I was a moderator on a Country Music Channel's forum and I got advanced copies of Country Music albums, signed posters and come up with themes and lists of songs for some of the channel's countdown shows. I am mostly into new Country though and not much of the classic stuff. I love Country Music artists and bands like Carrie Underwood, Jessica Andrews, Lila McCann, Martina McBride, Reba, Mackenzie Porter, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, One More Girl, Chely Wright, SheDaisy, Aleyce Simmonds, Chelsea Basham, Kristy Cox, Doc Walker, Emerson Drive, Faith Hill, Trisha Yearwood, Shania Tawin, Paul Brandt, McAlister Kemp, Miranda Lambert, Madeline Merlo, Tori Darke, Kira Isabella, Sarah Buxton, Katrina Elam, Cassadee Pope, Dianna Corcoran, Travis Collins etc and modern Country is very different than Classic Country. If you like the Wreckers you should check out some of them like One More Girl below.
Thanks for that information and those videos, DebLovesBeccy (I think I like the middle one the best, followed by the third one and then the first one). I do remember Angie Hart appearing on BtVS a couple of times (I think I enjoyed her song in the Season 4 premiere the best). She also appeared in an episode of Firefly, I believe. I do own to BtVS albums, but haven't listened to either of them in a long while. I actually really like the version of 'Goodbye to You' on Michelle Branch's The Spirit Room album. I know a lot of people didn't like Season 2 of the TV series True Detective, but I didn't mind it. What I really liked, though, were the songs played by Lera Lynn in the show. I'll also freely admit to liking Shania Twain. That's alright. Yes. Angie Hart appeared twice. Once as a solo artist and another time as Splendid and the solo song she performed was 'Blue' which was a really hard song to track down at first until it was on one of the 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' soundtracks and the other two she performed as Splendid were 'Charge' and 'You and Me' which are both on Splendid's album, 'Have You Got A Name For It?' A third song by Splendid called 'Tomorrow We'll Wake' was played in an episode of the show in the background of a scene with Anya and Xander and that was on Splendid's 'States Of Awake' EP. It is a shame Angie never made it big in America 'cause she is very talented and I loved Frente! and Splendid and I sometimes think she should have gave up and came back here 'cause she would have got more albums out. She spent so many years in America trying to get an album out but only getting her songs on soundtracks she probably could have released 5 or 6 albums in that time here. Frente! were really popular here in the 90s and songs like 'Accidentally Kelly Street', 'Ordinary Angels', 'Not Given Lightly', 'Bizarre Love Triangle' and 'Sit On My Hands' were regularly played on radio, Rage and Channel V.
I own the soundtracks for 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' too along with the soundtracks for 'Felicity' and 'Dawson's Creek' which were on around the same time and they had some good music on TV shows in the 90s but sadly some of the songs didn't make it on soundtracks and I had to search for them which was hard to do before I had the internet. Michelle Branch really got screwed by her record label and she actually would still be stuck under it now but her new manager (now husband too) helped her out and got her out of it so she can release albums again. I think she lost the songs she recorded during those years when she was under that label so she won't be able to release them and it makes you wonder how many artists have found themselves in similar situations where they have been stuck under a record label for over a decade that won't release them from the contract but at the same time won't release their music. That label almost destroyed her career and she has lost out on a lot of years because of it.

Thanks so much for putting up this fine yet memorable song selection here too . That's an interesting coincidence, mszanadu. Speaking of coincidences, the other night I was watching the recording of something where characters were knocking out the power in a street, and just as they did so and said, "Power's out, lights are off." we lost power in *our* street (it was off for an hour or so, but back on in time for my recorder to record the shows I'd set it for - which was just as well, as one of them was a season final. I've previously missed a season final of a show due to power outage, which was rather annoying). back on topic, I really like the song 'DreamWeaver', though I think the beginning part is my favourite. It just sounds so 'moody' (and even slightly eerie, but also dream-like). The rest of the song's good too, of course, but I like the beginning (before the actual singing starts) the best. Another example of this is 'One Night in Bangkok'. For me, the beginning part is the best, before it switches gears. And one more example of where I like the beginning (and in this case, the end too) the best out of the whole song is 'Golden Brown'. Though I really like the entirety of that^ one. 'Baby Come Back' has been played quite a bit in at least one commercial here in recent memory.

Are you a fan of Gary Wright in particular or just that song? I like his band, Spooky Tooth from the late 60s and early 70s and if you haven't heard of them they are worth checking. Spooky Tooth are slightly different than his solo material and are more Hard Rock/ Psychedelic Rock but are good nonetheless. Also did I just see mszanadu mention Ace? That band had Paul Carrack who later went on to be in Squeeze and Mike + The Mechanics and release a lot of solo albums. 'How Long', 'Tempted' (Squeeze), 'The Living Years' (Mike + The Mechanics) and 'Don't Shed A Tear For Me' and 'When You Walk in the Room' were all big hits here in Australia. Player had Ron Moss in it who was Ridge in 'Bold and the Beautiful.'

Thanks for introducing me to her, DebLovesBeccy. I've listened to the three songs you posted above^ and I think I like the first one the best, followed by the third one and then the middle one. Katharine McPhee - Had It All (From the album, 'Unbroken') Thanks also for posting that^ song. I mainly know of Katharine McPhee due to the two shows I watched her in ( Smash and Scorpion). I had read that she was in American Idol, but hadn't heard any of her songs (only what she sang in those two shows). She looks a bit different with the short blonde hair (whereas I'm used to her with longer brown hair). Thanks again for the songs.
