The New movie of 'The Crow' is one of the superhero/comic book movies I am looking forward to seeing the most and there are so many storylines from the comic books they didn't do in the previous four movies that would be awesome to see on screen especially the direct sequel where Eric Draven came back a second time as a superhero to save the city. With Rob Cohen making a 'Razor' movie I would also LOVE to see The Crow/Razor series on screen.
The Crow Reboot Reportedly Starts Production in Early 2018
The long-awaited reboot of The Crow, titled The Crow Reborn, will finally start production in early 2018. While the 1994 comic book adaptation of The Crow has gained a considerable following over the years, various filmmakers have been trying to get a reboot off the ground for years (and big names like Bradley Cooper and Luke Evans were even circling the main lead at some point). Over the past year, however, filmmaker Corin Hardy and Justice League star Jason Momoa have had a somewhat on-again off-again attachment to the reboot due to rights issues, with recent social media postings hinting that Hardy and Momoa could be gaining traction on getting the film made.
Not long after, The Crow Reborn was picked up by Sony as a distributor, which again brought questions of Hardy and Momoa’s involvement and when exactly the film would start production. Now, thanks to original comic creator James O’Barr, fans finally have an answer to a couple of those crucial questions.

O’Barr recently sat down with ScreenGeek to reveal that The Crow Reborn would officially begin pre-production in February of 2018 with director Corin Hardy attached to helm the film. O’Barr did not address Momoa or his potential involvement with the film. Addressing his own involvement in The Crow reboot, O’Barr said:
Brandon Lee in The Crow The Crow Reboot Reportedly Starts Production in Early 2018
“As of right now, it’s slated to start pre-production in February with a very talented British director named Corin Hardy. I’m involved in every aspect of the film and working closely with the director.”
Given that February isn’t exactly all that far away and considering the social media posts with Hardy and Momoa and their previous involvement with the project, it’s likely that the Aquaman star is still attached to The Crow Reborn. Still, there’s been no confirmation by anyone involved, so fans will have to wait just a little longer for concrete answers.
Regardless of who stars, O’Barr’s confirmed heavy involvement in The Crow Reborn likely means that rumors of the film shooting for another dark, supernatural revenge film and an R-rating are also likely, especially given Sony’s rumored push for an R-rated Venom movie. Again, it’s too early to know for sure if this is the case and only time will tell.
Either way, fans of the 1994 Brandon Lee version of The Crow are probably wary of any kind of reboot, especially considering the poor reception to the sequels that followed. With O’Barr and Hardy’s involvement, however, perhaps the duo can change minds. Should Momoa prove to actually be involved with The Crow Reborn as well, that should make their jobs that much easier.
