Kingdom of Heaven - Director's Cut (2005) Rotten Tomatoes: - Metacritic: -
IMDb v2.0 average: 9.3 (8 votes - updated 31 October 2017)
Even though the original theatrical version got mixed reviews upon its release, the director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven has received a lot of critical acclaim. Some even consider it 'the most substantial director's cut of all time'. How would you rate the director's cut?

10/10. I cannot believe they didn't release this. Okay, okay I can but still it's a travesty.

9/10 – it's the only version I've seen, though.

Special notion to the score.
Orlando is imho the weakest link in the movie. A Norton behind a mask is still outplaying him. But on the other hand is also no desaster...

I'm torn between a 9 and 10. I'll have to rewatch the film, perhaps this week. Amazing film though.

Wow very high ratings for this movie. Together with Alien: Covenant one of the only Ridley Scott movies I haven't seen yet, but I guess I should check it out.

It's been some time since I've seen this Director's Cut, but I remember really liking it and thought it blew away the theatrical version. One of Scott's best films.
8.5/10

Is there anyone who has seen it and hasn't rated it yet? It's already been in the top 10 for a while now, but it only has 11 votes.

8.5/10
theatrical version 6/10
The big advantage of the directors cut - nearly all the added scenes do NOT involve Orlando.

Incredible production and impressive cast. Ridley Scott knows how to beautifully set up battle scenes but not how to execute them. They are weak here. Orlando Bloom is a good actor but does not have the charisma the role here demands. 8/10

8/10. Having only seen the Director's Cut, this was definitely a thinking man's historical epic. It's neither pro or anti Islam or Christian, and Saladin (remarkably played by Ghassan Massoud) is not depicted as a stereotypical Arab villain. Orlando Bloom lacks the charisma that makes actors like Charlton Heston or Russell Crowe shine as leads in historical epics. Regardless, it has a strong supporting cast. The production design and the battle sequences were well-crafted.
