"Only" a second? The 49ers overpaid, in my opinion.

I don't fully get why the Patriots did this now and for what seems like less than what he could have gotten, but since Belichick has won 5 more Super Bowls than I have, he must have a plan.

They know they aren't going to sign him after the season, so they're getting what they can for him now. They anticipate Brady being here at least one more year so they had to do something. They'll obviously draft a QB at some point in the near future.

Hoyer likely ending up there, as he supposedly knows the system.

I wonder....will Jimmy G prove to be what most guys from NE prove?
Look at Cassell, hot prospect leaves Ne and ehhhhh...
Hoyer leaves NE...and ehhhh.....
So Im curious how Jimmy looks elsewhere. I still feel they could have gotten more.

He had a great game and a half (for the most stable organization in the league), then got injured. The Patriots had zero leverage in this situation, I can't believe they got a 2nd rounder at this point.

Cleveland wasn’t offering more, they were asking for more from Cleveland but they wouldn’t budge. It would be stupid to give more than a 2nd round pick, which IMO, may be too much. The guy s unproven and like others have said, has bust written all over it in the same vain as Matt Cassell and Brian Hoyer

They'll obviously draft a QB at some point in the near future. Knowing BB, I could even see them draft a couple from the same class, have a duel. Manufacturing competitiveness. As for JimmyG, the 49ers situation may make his actual work ethic & play look worse than he is. At his age, I think he's more concerned about playing time than proving himself to Stephen A. Smith's of the world. Leaving the Patriots really only solidifies the Pats' greatness as a system. Charlie Weis, Romeo Crennel, Josh McDaniels, Cassel. Off the top of my head, Richard Seymour is probably the one guy who didn't stumble after he left.

Kirk Cousins.
Where now?

Possibly Minnesota. Both Bradford's and Teddy's contracts are up after this season. I don't think the Vikings will extend Bradford. Why waste your money on someone who can't play? If Teddy is even a little bit of a question mark after his return I can definitely see the Vikings in the market for a starting QB.

Cousins will end up in one of the following: Cleveland, Jacksonville, Arizona, Denver, or remain in DC.

And you claim you're really not a Patriots' fan, yet you get so upset and throw a hissy fit because you think the Patriots didn't get "enough" for Jimmy Garrapolo.

It's obvious to anyone what team I root for, stop being a child. Throwing a fit, I simply said didnt Cleveland offer more? You try to get the most you can, you think Im the only one claiming NE didnt get enough? Listen to sports radio, sports announcers etc. Hop off Toms nuts for a day.

I know that hurts you and cuts you deep. Dude, you claim youre a Dallas fan, shouldnt you be worried about Zeke? Youre such a bandwagon hater/fan.
