I disliked both but for different reasons. TFA was just empty, uncreative attempt at a nostalgia trip that didn't even work as such. R1 at least tried something a bit different, within Star Wars universe at least, but it was not a good movie either.

I like portions of Force Awakens but Rogue One was a superior film.

Rogue One was alright. TFA was dreadful though imo.
Rogue One 7/10
The Force Awakens 4/10

Liked "TFA". Disliked "Where's Cameo?".

TFA is a lazy rehash, and RO is pretty bland only propped up by Vader and Leia. Neither movie are anywhere near the high standard Lucas achieved in his 30s.

I particularly liked The Force Awakens and thought it was a hell of a lot better.
Rogue One....pretty forgettable and boring actually. Except for Jyn I can't even remember the names of the other characters.
It wasn't the worst made movie but it was definitely my least favourite Star Wars movie.

I liked both. I hated that The Force Awakens played safe by recycling elements from the original trilogy, but if the goal was to re-introduce the franchise to a new generation and make older fans nostalgic, then, I suppose it worked, although obviously not for some. Nevertheless, I liked the new characters and it was great seeing the older characters again. The visual effects were good, and some of the action sequences were very satisfying. Lastly, the movie doesn't have a strong re-watch value for me, but I have a strong feeling The Last Jedi may vindicate this movie's existence.
Rogue One had some bland, personality devoid characters, but the cinematography and the attention-to-detail in the set design really merged well with the look of the original trilogy. The action sequences were intense and very involving. I felt watching the movie for a second time, it really improves.

TFA was a lowbrow rehash on fanfic level. As unoriginal as it was unimaginative.
RO was good, nice addition albeit unnecessary.

Yes. I loved Force Awakens. Rogue One was good too, kind of boring to me but I loved the scenes with Vader and Tarkin.
