Thanks for posting this. I was surprised to see it during Game 7 tonight. Dunno why, lol. Just wasn't looking for it. ;B Anyway, it looks gorgeous. I just wonder if the script will be remotely good once I kick the tires a bit. 27 sec in - Okay, they keep showing Finn use another melee weapon. I'm guessing they heard the fans wishing he had gone up against Phasma in TFA instead of TR-8R. Thing is, I wonder who will win that fight. Will Finn get his ass kicked yet again? Will they give Phasma more screen time only to have her lose or get killed? Will we get any indication that Finn trained with this weapon since TFA? 33 sec in - Hmm. This is official confirmation that Finn will now be a pilot. How good will he be? Will all of TLJ take place immediately after TFA? Will Finn receive any official training here? If so, who will teach him how to fly? How long will he train for before he heads out into battle? Will he be that jackass who crashed his ship, Jar Jar-style, in the first teaser? All right. I hope I don't accidentally walk into any more spoilers/hints watching TV. ;P

The more scenes that get revealed, the more beautiful this movie looks. I'm very impressed with the cinematography.

I like that Snoke's dialogue was clearer and easier to understand in this trailer. They should keep that for the whole movie. It was also great seeing Luke in the old Falcon again.

The Luke/Falcon gave me chills. It's even better than the Han + Chewie/Falcon scene, which doesn't seem right, but nonetheless, very powerful. I really hope there's a Leia/Luke reunion before she bites it.

For me, it's the look on his face. Same reason I thought the finale of TFA was so powerful. It was the look on Hamill's face. I wasn't much a fan of his acting in the OT, but I am very much looking forward to his treatment this time around.

I wasn't much a fan of his acting in the OT, but I am very much looking forward to his treatment this time around. I've seen people through the years put down his acting in the OT. I thought it was always unfounded. Mark had to play off of a puppet for almost the entirety of Episode 5. I challenge anyone to look at his acting in that movie and say he doesn't sincerely sell that Yoda is this wise, old, powerful being. He made me believe Yoda was real. If he hadn't been able to do it, the whole Yoda/Dagobah storyline wouldn't have worked. It took acting skills. It also didn't hurt that Frank Oz was/is a master puppeteer. Same with Episode 6. Mark had to the big scene in the throne room with Vader/The Emperor. He sold that as well. I will admit that he was a little hammy in the early scenes of Episode 4. That was intentional by Hamill/Lucas to show the maturity of Luke through the trilogy. Mark actually said the early whiney scene were cringeworthy even for himself to perform. He said he had to trust George Lucas knew what he was doing.

But let's be honest: Hamill's acting in the OT can be dated. He fit right in with the style in the late 70s/early 80s, which I just don't like as much, whereas Ford's Solo is timeless. I can at least say this much: what I lacked in respect for Hamill's acting, he gained it all back with just one look (well, two looks to be specific). I mean, I must watch that scene ten times for every time I watch the entirety of TFA. And he didn't say a word. Hamill drew me in more without a word than some of the great acting performances I've seen with fantastic dialogue as backing.

And for everyone (including Hamill) who complains that Luke's scenes were cut from TFA, all I can say is that it was more than worth it. I for one think it was the right decision. One moment (to me) can be so much more epic than several scenes combined. The way TFA ended was perfect. Just perfect.

His father was strong in it, his sister...kind of had it...he had that power too!

But that acting style was right in line with the melodrama of the time.

Leia was never whiny! She is the least whiney of the Skywalkers but she was a little bit. I still love her though.

Aww, it's true. I love Luke, and by extension Hamill. But that acting style was right in line with the melodrama of the time. Nonsense! The 1970's had wonderful movies including Star Wars, Jaws, Taxi Driver, Apocalypse Now, Rocky, One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest, The Godfather 1-2, Dog Day Afternoon, The Deer Hunter, etc. Collectively, movie had already moved towards authenticity and making things "real". Star Wars was no different.
