Well, I wouldn't have any of these, but I went to a diner in Paris once that had "American meal" on the menu. "Nice," I thought. "I want an American meal." It was a hamburger patty (no bun) with a fried egg on top. There were at least 2000 potato chips with it on the plate (I may be exaggerating). I think they thought they'd kinda nailed American taste - and compared to French, I think they came pretty close. I ate it.

In the U.S., I went to a kosher deli that had a restaurant in the back and they served a club sandwich which was awesome!! They did something to chicken that made it seem like bacon (only a kosher version) in the club sandwich and it was an extremely popular choice for people who couldn't eat bacon but did understand that it's tasty. It was an incredibly good sandwich. They also had ranch dressing that was made with tofu milk or something (so that it wasn't dairy and it could be served with a meat sandwich). Unbelievably good combination! It was cute that they found kosher ways to make things that wouldn't be kosher otherwise.

Tha'ts pretty cool how they find creative ways to substitute things like that so people can get a feel for a certain kind of food experience. If only there was a really healthy way to do that with all the unhealthy foods out there

Yeah - and they did such a good job with that club sandwich. My mouth waters just thinking about it. That sounded really good. Now If only there was a way to perfectly simulate mcdonalds and pizza too We do have kosher McDonald's in Israel and I've been to these places many times. They don't offer cheeseburgers or milkshakes with the meals, but the hamburgers (large and small) are just as good and they have the good french fries. We've got pizza all over the place in Israel, but kosher pizza means no meat so they add things like olives, tomatoes, etc. My choice is always cheese pizza. Lots of restaurants offer it in addition to the pizza places (which are numerous). There are pizza chain restaurants and Mom-and-Pop pizza places. We have Pizza Hut here, by the way, and I've seen Domino's Pizza (up north years ago).

I'd be curious to compare your McDonalds with ours I've eaten at McDonald's in the U.S. many times (while growing up in the U.S. and beyond) so I can tell you from experience that our kosher McDonald's are exactly the same except for not selling cheeseburgers (or Big Macs) and not selling milkshakes to go with the hamburgers. We can't mix meat and milk, so McDonald's gives a meat meal. One other difference is that we do have some big hamburger offerings that might be different since we can't sell a Big Mac here. I can't remember their names but I think they have "America" in the names. They're just big hamburger sandwiches without being Bic Macs (which have cheese).

Yep that is the power of marketing, they do know how to dress up burgers to make them(in the ads) look better, than they actually are if you order them at ______(insert chain name).
