Has anyone had to deal with the Spora Ransomware? And if so how did you get rid of it. From what I've read and seen it is a real bitch.

ransomfree.cybereason.com/it's a free program that's supposed to block all or nearly all Ransomware given it does not look for specific strains but it detects Ransomware based on how it functions. it uses very little resources to which is always a good thing. but that's just preventative software as once infected your pretty much screwed when it comes to most Ransomware from what i know. p.s. also, programs like Voodooshield (i.e. voodooshield.com/ (it's free but has a option to pay $$$ for additional control over the program)) is probably best though since it just assumes everything you did not specifically allow to run as something shady and automatically blocks it. it does require some initial configuring though. it also uses very little resources. with Voodooshield installed one probably does not need Ransomfree but it does not hurt to have both since they barely use any system resources. it even shows this on RandomFree's website...

i just stumbled into a RansomFree review online dated April 17th 2017... www.pcmag.com/review/352983/cybereason-ransomfreei even noticed it was not detecting 'Simulated Ransomware' a while back but it's not surprising because it does not act like a real Ransomware infection and that's what i assumed which that review further confirms. p.s. RansomFree is currently on v2.2.6.0 which added support for the Windows 10 Creators Update released last month.

I just thought i would post a bit of a update... the recent WannaCry ransomware that infected a lot of PC's in the world Friday would have been blocked had people been runnning RansomFree as it appears the RansomFree website was updated and now shows this... "Protects against 99% of ransomware strains, including WannaCry." Given the importance of this topic, I created a new thread in this forum, with the latest advice from Woody Leonhard: imdb2.freeforums.net/thread/26885/make-won-get-wannacry-wannacrypt
