It's a bit crazy isnt it and im sure the majority of accusations against people in power are true and real (especially in entertainment) but do we just believe everything chucked out there nowadays? How do we even know the validity of some of these claims, against MPs for example, anyone could just lob any claim at anyone and all of a sudden, an MP could be suspended... its a bit ridiculous.
Of course you want to believe (the mostly women) coming out with the accusations but you'd have to be naive to believe they're all 100% real, people cash in on tragedies and all sorts for a quick buck, so exploiting abuse and harassment isn't too much for some.

Uhh, do you realize that what you just did was call women who are sexually abused liars? You are scum. Not all of them, some of them surely are lying. And it's specifically about the prominent cases involving people in positions of power in politics and entertainment. Some claims cant be proved or disproved so things get a bit messy. My faith in humanity wanes, I want to believe most people are genuine and decent but as recent news is showing, thats not quite the case.

It's irrelevant.
There will almost always be zero evidence but if there are enough voices, you're pretty much fucked anyway (but at least you won't go to prison).

I think a sad tale is that there is a recurring circle - men gget abused - then they abuse the next lot when they are like 18 - then they are fcked and part f the problem . the people that abuse in hollywood from a few accounts i have read are that these moguls and whoever state its normal and part of the business and you will be doing it to others yourself - they want them to do it to others.. so they can not speak out.. they also normal have a drug handler as well at the same time so they end up getting proof of them being on drugs so are unreliable witnesses. and obviously boys/men being raped still has stigma attached. less come forward

there's a new allegation a day, setting a dangerous precedent for ruining peoples reputation with no evidence whatsoever, it's turned into a hysterical witch hunt. Sure a lot of famous men are probably creeps but dont just believe anything you read on the internet.

The only thing I don't like about this is calling these women "brave" for coming forward now. You know what would have been brave? Coming forward when you had something to lose. Yes, if the allegations are true it's a terrible thing. But the women didn't say anything, got famous, became established stars and made millions. What's the risk if, say, Charlize Theron comes forward now? Nothing. But if someone said something years ago maybe it would have spared others from having to go deal with it. Brave. Don't make me laugh.

Don't make me laugh. I once had my bike stolen, which is kind of the same thing. It was at 6th form college, and I was getting pretty blasé about locking my bike up, it was a pretty shit bike, and I hadn't been putting the lock on it for about 3 months. Then one day, it wasn't there, it had finally been stolen. I had two options at this point, go to reception or the police, and risk getting humiliated when I tell them my bike wasn't locked up with little chance of it ever being retrieved, let alone getting a conviction against the evil bastard(s) who did it. Or stay quiet, and try and find some way of moving on with my life. I chose the latter, I stayed quiet. I didn't want to be the victim. It is not easy coming forward in cases like this so I an empathise with what these women are going through, having been through the same thing myself, and it is only now I can speak up about what happened to me.

Think of all the bikes that might not have been stolen had you come forward when it happened. So many innocent bikes harassed and raped that could have been prevented had someone stronger than you come forward. Now all you can do is say "what if?"

Don't make me laugh. A brave Woman would immediately walk out the door the minute one of the sleazy Hollywood execs tried to get her to put out for a job. Putting out for a job, then coming back later after someone already blew the whistle is opportunist. I agree. It would of been brave if they had forsaken their chances at a career for the time being to blow the whistles on these pieces of shit but instead they weighed their options and "whored" themselves out to the Hollywood machine. They keep quiet for years, then things finally boiled over with the Weinstein case and they come crawling out of the wood work. Since this is Hollywood we are talking about, the business of the self centered and egotistical, I believe some of these Women are just coming forward for the money or the media attention. Others were too afraid and guilty of what they did that they needed someone else to break the ice on the subject. Yes, they could of saved a lot of people a lot of grief if they came forward about the advances. It's sad, but this shit has been going on in Hollywood for over a hundred years now. We will never know how many Women were put in these situations, but in today's society where Women have equal rights, compared to how it was back in the "good old days" there is no excuse. The stories are just going to keep on coming. Some of them will be true, some of them will be embellished to make the Woman look more tragic. Hollywood is scum!

Odds on a major sport to be next? Wouldn't be surprised at all of harassment in football, managers may be accused etc. Not just against women either, could be some eye opening news.

Its madness! But I had to laugh just there when I saw Steven Seagal being accused now, shur his career died years ago anyway.
I think the next big thing in Hollywood/Channel 5 land is gonna be a big brother house full of all these ex stars, I'd watch that no probs, Spacey and Louis CK and Seagal etc, bring it on!
