He'll probably appear in a Marvel movie or something in the future. Word is, this is cooking, despite deep DC links ...
'Christian Slater is no stranger to the world of superheroes after playing a comic book store employee in True Romance and voicing Deadshot in Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay but when are we going to see the Golden Globe winning actor in a live-action superhero movie? It's easy to imagine him fitting into both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Films Universe...it just depends on who nabs him first! After all, the actor has really turned his career around with his superb and award-winning performance in Mr. Robot and it's honestly surprising that Marvel Studios, in particular, hasn't approached him to play a villain (his layered and compelling work in the USA Network drama proves he'd be perfect for any number of characters). Recently, I was given the opportunity to talk to Slater and had to ask him if a live-action role in a superhero movie is something he would be interested in tackling one day. "Look, if they keep making them, absolutely!" he enthusiastically replied. "At some point, that would be great. You know, I'm taking care of myself and I am certainly ready to be involved in something like that. Whether it's an animated feature or something live-action, I would be more than happy to participate in something like that." I guess, for now, we'll just have to wait and see what comes next for him but here's hoping someone takes notes of these comments and thinks about signing him up.'

My first exposure to him was his performance in Heathers. My initial reaction was "Man, this guy is really ripping off Jack".
Not saying I don't like him, or that he hasn't appeared in some great movies, but I've always kind of thought of him as a Nicholson wannabe.

Christian Slater was asked about this when he performed in 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest' on stage. Thankfully, once the reviews came in and were good, the questions stopped coming as people recognised how different his interpretation of the role was to Jack Nicholson's on film.
As J.D. in 'Heathers', Slater had channelled a number of influences, including Jack Nicholson's bad boy persona, Martin Sheen's enigmatic work in 'Badlands' and the iconic style of James Dean.

The song 'Everything I Do (I Do It For You)', as recorded by Bryan Adams, was a U K number 1 for months. I think Whitney Houston and Wet Wet Wet also had songs connected to films in the 1990s that achieved this.
The success of this movie also launched director Kevin Reynolds into infamous megabudget disaster 'Waterworld' and a life of crime with the world's leading actor, Kevin Costner.

Did he alter his voice to sound like Nicholson? Or just a coincidence?
Stephen "Evil Ed" Geoffries also had some resemblance to Nicholson (from his Little Shoppe of Horrors performance). Then again, isn't Brad Dourif also doing a Jack impression in Child's Play movies?

It must be the manly, east coast snarl you're hearing.
