Massively underrated. Mesmerizing soundtrack, epic feel and wondrous effects. The 2001 Director's Edition is the definitive version.

It's the best of the Star Trek movies that I've seen, but that doesn't say all that much.

I always thought that this was interesting video of Robert Wise and his feelings about "STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE" which he Directed.

While dated in some respects and a slow burn, I find the film as a tremendous sense of awe about it and the visual effects are just beautiful.
