I thought it was supposed to "bad" or whatever even according to (most) MCU fans (who aren't insane/ formersamhmd). Whenever I watch it I just skip the parts on earth with Dr Selvig and Darcy which brings the movie down massively. Other than that, everything on Asgard is genuinely great. Thor, Odin, Loki, Heimdall, Frigga are all given fleshed out character arcs. Theres great dramatic and intimate scenes like Lokis hearing infront of Odin in the opening scene, Thor showing Jane Asgard, Friggas death/funeral, Odin and Thor arguing on how to deal with Dark Elvs, Lokis reaction and dialogue with Thor in the dungeons, Lokis "death" and the well rounded final scene revealing Loki as king (which they waste in Ragnarok). I dont know why MCU fans hate it, maybe because its too dark for them and Thor and every other character aren't cracking jokes during serious moments. |

It seemed Loki-heavy, which was what looked intriguing about it. So it seems like it has one iota of nuance, plot-wise, which would explain the MCU kiddos' mewling complaints about it. |
