I have tried all the hangover remedies (drink water before bed, take aspirin before bed, eat a greasy breakfast etc.) Some do help but this is a surefire way to get rid of one. We started decorating for Christmas and setting up the tree yesterday. Well I started drinking while doing it. When done I watched two movies and continued drinking. Needless to say I felt terrible this morning. So instead of sitting around feeling awful all day I jumped on my mountain bike and went for a brisk 10 mile ride. When I got home I had no hangover at all. I think the combination of getting my heart rate way up and breathing all that fresh air did the trick. Next time any or you overindulge give it a try.

Did you drink any water? I thought hangovers were mostly dehydration. Whatever works for you, though...

But the thing is when I have had hangovers before if I just sit at home drinking water I still feel awful all day. Not saying water don't help some but nowhere near as good as going for a long bike ride.

Stick with beer and stay away from the liquor. I just drink beer and if I get a good sleep I'll never get a hangover.

I think that "Stickman," has the best solution ... "Don't drink enough to get sick." That's obvious.
However, (things being what they are), I love wine! And, it's easy to want more wine.
When it comes to drinking plenty of water, my understanding is that you should intersperse the intake of alcohol, with the intake of water, along the same time-frame. "Sloshing," for a few hours, then downing a gallon of water, won't cut it.
A local "Master Sommellier," who does frequent interviews, says that he's, often, asked about hangovers. He recommends a glass of water, for every glass of wine. I don't know if/how that ratio might change, when it comes to beers, or harder liquors.

That's true. It's a neutralizer that I always use.

Or, you could take a brisk 10-minute walk to the liquor store to get more booze to kill the hangover. LOL
